Kitchen Economy, Broadway For this issue, ERT’s team of mystery shoppers visited,


and assessed, eight stores across the Welsh capital


This store, located in Roath, a district and community to the north-east of the city centre, first opened in 1978.


I was looking to buy our first dishwasher as part of our kitchen renovation project. Inside the store, I was greeted by Bav, who was sat at a desk. He asked if I needed any other appliances, and I said that we were keeping all of our existing models but said we had the space to get a dishwasher. Bav first presented a Bosch Series 2 model (MS2HVW67G), which was priced at £499. He


said that this is a 14-place settings dishwasher, which comes with a five-year parts and labour warranty. To demonstrate the quietness of the appliance, Bav asked me to play music on my phone, and to turn the volume up. He then placed my phone in the dishwasher and closed the door and I was surprised by how quiet the music was once inside the model. After taking down my postcode, Bav said that it would cost £30 to deliver the appliance.

Bav was on great form; his demonstration with my phone was brilliant and he attempted to close the sale, by encouraging me to collect the product myself, and save money in the process. The store was well presented – the exterior was very good.
