Shopfloor DEALER PROFILE: GLOTECH APPLIANCES Close encounters
“We relish the opportunity of being so close to the end user so that we can better serve their requirements,” Chris Reeves, Director of Glotech Appliances, tells ERT. Here, he talks about the opening of his new store and its blend of both physical and online retail and service offerings.

Glotech Appliances and Repairs opened the doors to its Wiltshire offices and appliance service centre in September 2018. But earlier this year the company officially opened its new Chippenham showroom with a sole aim to expand
its support to the local community. The new site offers a showroom space with an extensive range of appliances, plus it’s home to the company’s call centre and administrative team for its repairs and servicing team. Chris Reeves, Director of Glotech (pictured

into researching the right location,” he tells ERT. “Chippenham was the perfect location given its excellent transport links to the M4 – giving us a great reach to Reading in the east, the Cotswolds to the north, Exeter and Southampton to the south,
in addition to
serving as a gateway to the west of England and Wales going forwards.”
Q&A
Q: What were your main reasons for expanding your current retail offer with a new physical store? Chris Reeves: With logistics and supply chain being key considerations as part of our expansion, we wanted a location which ticked the boxes for connectivity with our existing operations in London and Hertfordshire – as well as affording the opportunity to grow into new territory, namely the South West of England, Wales and the Cotswolds. Our research showed that development and urban renewal will underpin much of the UK economy’s growth in the coming decades, with initiatives such as the Core Cities becoming more prominent with growth outside London in regional centres like Bristol and Cardiff. The South West has long been popular with aspirational homeowners and we wanted to cater to their particular needs, especially as integrated luxury appliances are becoming a prerequisite of the bespoke kitchen and utility room, so end users can enjoy the benefits of a London showroom closer to home.
Q: What product ranges/categories, appliance services and supplier brands are available at Chippenham? CR: In line with our vision to be an appliance supplier and repairer of choice, we display almost all makes and models of domestic appliances from Chippenham. We are also proud to offer 15 brands across six main product categories: laundry, cooking, refrigeration, dishwashers, floorcare and small appliances. This means we can supply the appropriate
product at the right price point for every customer, as we work with so many great brands – from AEG to Zanussi, including Amica, Beko, Bertazzoni, Bosch, Candy, Caple, Fisher & Paykel, Hotpoint, Liebherr, Neff, Samsung and Siemens.
