“You never know what could present a new

opportunity” Founded in 1874

This issue I am delighted to reveal the finalists in our supplier categories for the 2018 DIY Week Awards. Of course, we’re only halfway there, as we still have our retailer shortlist to go – an announcement that has been somewhat delayed, when the unseasonable snow put the kibosh on our second judging day set to take place in the midlands – but it is still very exciting news and those who have made the shortlist are all thrilled to have their products showcased in this issue and know that they are in the running for the top prize. And, believe me when I say that they have all well and truly earned their place on that list! Our expert panel of judges could never be accused of being a soft touch – they know their stuff and they don’t take any prisoners when it comes to the process. So, if your product or company has been named as a finalist, congratulations – you did well to impress and make it through. For those of you whose entry didn’t quite make the cut, you were up against some tough competition and several difficult decisions had to be made on the day. And, for our retailer readers looking over the finalists on pages 14-16, there may be some ranges you recognise and know are great but there may be others that are completely new to you and have piqued your interest. If that is the case, I endeavour you to find out more about those products because we have a fantastic line-up this year and you never know what could present a new opportunity for you.

So, I will leave you with that to whet your appetite and look forward to unveiling a list of our retailer finalists in the next issue.
