10 things you may not know about...


1. EFG a very old young company We can trace our roots back to Shoreditch in London’s east end back in the 1870’s as a retail business but the family took the decision to move into wholesale rather than retail back in the 1970’s. Enfield Fancy goods as it was called then was founded by Alan and Trevor Shipton in a warehouse only a stone’s throw from our current site 100,000 square foot warehouse Mollison Avenue Enfield


2. EFG Proud to be a family company EFG is now run by Alan and Trevor Son’s Mark and Daren they took full ownership of the business back in 2000 and have driven the business forward to be the UK largest independent wholesale business. With Daren’s Sons James and Bradley now very involved with the business


in its sales and buying functions the company finds itself in very capable hands as we continue to grow Nationally and Internationally.


3. E-Commerce Wholesale We have grown to become the UK’s number one Cash and Carry and for many years we’ve been servicing 000’s of customer every week from our Enfield base but in 2014 we launched or first website and in 2020 we are very excited to be launching our first ever purpose built website and app allowing our customers to shop the range quicker and far easier than before.


4. EFG A well-kept secret? We’ve have never ever been one to shout about our success’s but we now ship to over 100 countries along with 000’s of UK based high street and e-commerce partners. And just recently we were also voted inside the HSBC international top 200 companies to watch.


5. EFG-UK and Beyond We now have agreements in place with some of the largest companies in the world and nowhere is that more prevalent than in west Africa where we have agreements withleading brands to supply there products to the continent, James Shipton has driven this division from a few thousand Pounds to a multi-million pound business in its own right.


6. EFG’s Unrivalled stock and ranges Our range is simply unrivalled with over 70,000 products in our warehouse EFG really are the perfect partner for business, offering speed, service and a stock holding of 95% we invested in 2019 in a good, better, best strategy so now we really can claim to have everything under one roof and if we haven’t we can get it!


7. EFG capabilities Our delivery options are unrivalled with Multiple Cartons, Pallets, Containers and our own vans leaving Enfield leaving all day every day to all parts of the UK, Ireland and beyond.


8. EFG Investment In January 2020 we invested over £250,000 in a new computer system and automatic racking to future proof us against the changing trading landscape and be in a better position to react to our customer needs both very large and very small.


9. EFG Expansion EFG in late 2018 decided to invest in a field-based sales team and put a delivered wholesale division together the team who is led by Mike Smith with Sales Managers from Ireland to the South East of England EFG can really offer a unique proposition in wholesale.


10. EFG-The Future With Daren’s son’s already in the business and Marks children growing fast the EFG company is in very safe hands of the Shipton family our investment in People, Technology, Stock and Customer service will continue apace.
