British home improvement r eta il er , Wickes, has announced Simon King
will be replaced by David Wood as the new chief executive officer. Mr Wood was previously CEO
of Mothercare, and of American department store Kmart, as well as spending eight years at
Tesco plc, where Mr Wood held a number of positions and moved up in the business. CEO of Travis Perkins, John
Carter, said: “We can confirm that as CEO for Wickes at the end of May 2019; bringing a wealth of executive retail experience to the the future growth opportunities for the business and we are delighted to have him on board.”
ArtificialGrass.com grows its team
ArtificialGrass.com has welcomed two new members of staff to its team to enhance its business in the south. Kerry Lee and Emma Baddeley have been appointed to the roles of area sales manager and sales and marketing co-ordinator respectively. Ms Lee joined the company in February 2019 and has brought a wide range of experience to the position. Most recetly she was an account manager for Rockwool Insulation. Ms Baddeley joined from Gardman in March. On a day- to-day basis, her role will see her processing artificial turf orders
for merchants, taking calls from customers to provide advice and quotations for jobs, managing the firm’s social media accounts, co-ordinating deliveries, and offering support to Kerry and the installer network.
Squire’s makes round of new appointments
Squire’s Garden Centres has made a number of new appointments, including promoting two members of staff to the role of centre manager. At Squire’s Garden Centre in
Reigate, Adam Eton has been appointed manager, taking over from Ian Farmer, who has retired after 25 years with the company. Mr Eton was previously assistant manager at Squire’s in Badshot Lea. At Squire’s in Cobham, Sam
Jones has been promoted to manager. Previously assistant manager at Squire’s in Milford, Mr Jones is replacing George Bishop, who has taken up the position of HR & training

Kybotech names new buying director Ms Lyons’s appointment
Worksop-based garden buildings manufacturer Kybotech has appointed a new director to head up the company’s buying team. Catherine Lyons joined
the company from discount warehouse JTF, where she gained eight years of experience as director of buying.
