Covers’ lorries reach Ukraine
Covers Timber and Builders Merchants has donated three lorries to the humanitarian organisation Stay Safe UA, and launched a £50,000 campaign with UKtoUkraine. Covers’ Mercedes rigid crane
lorries, plus a forklift and tracked recovery vehicle, have arrived in Lviv and the vital aid was handed over to Stay Safe UA. The convoy contained three crane lorries, loaded with a forklift, tracked recovery vehicle, a Bobcat loader for rubble clearance and a container of donated equipment and life-saving medical supplies.
One of the founders of UKtoUkraine, Caragh Booth, said: “There was huge excitement as the drivers handed over the vehicles to our partners Stay Safe UA close to the Ukrainian border in Poland. This convoy is inspirational for the Ukrainians. They realise that the British people and donors are still there to help. What Covers have given is exceptional.”
