7 7. New generation ecoTEC
Vaillant has unveiled the next generation of its ecoTEC plus boiler and its brand new myVAILLANT connect gateway. Responding to installer feedback, Vaillant has improved its ecoTEC plus combination and system range incorporating a wide range of refinements, designed to improve both installer and end user experience whilst keeping the features and layout. The launch brings a refined layout for the ecoTEC plus model, with all components easily accessible from the front of the boiler. The ecoTEC plus models unlock the most efficient combustion and optimised performance, with the technology constantly monitoring the quality of the gas thus maximising the available energy. The new gateway integrates into smart-home platforms including; Apple HomeKit, Amazon Alexa and coming soon, Google Home.

10. Weber MVS Saint-Gobain Weber’s

Traditional cement and sand screed mix of up to 50mm could take more than a month to dry, before being ready to receive a moisture sensitive floor finish such as vinyl, but by using weberfloor MVS, contractors can treat a substrate with up to 95% RH as if it was 75% RH. Weberfloor MVS is easy to apply with a roller and there is no need to prime before over coating with weberfloor screeds and smoothing compounds. It is also tinted to help achieve full coverage of the floor. It has rapid drying properties and it is suitable to be over- coated in as little as 60 minutes.

11. Euroform’s Versapanel used in Worcester scheme The A2
Versapanel is a cement bonded
particle board that can be used as an SFS sheathing board, it will be used in
the Sherriff’s Gate regeneration scheme in Worcester.
The board has a density of 1560 kg/ m3 and provides a high mass exterior lining, and complies with Approved Document E, which means it is resistant to sound. It combines the benefits of traditional cement bonded particle boards with A2 Reaction to Fire, according to EN 13501-1, making it a material of limited combustibility and meets the requirements of Approved Document B, which is the fire regulations for tall buildings. A range of systems may be applied over A2 Versapanel such as; approved insulated render systems, terracotta cladding systems, high performance cladding systems and traditional brick coursework.

9. StormTech gets third-party verification StormTech, the combined SuDS attenuation and water quality management system from Advanced Drainage Systems now has third party verification of mitigation indices (MIs) for treatment of stormwater runoff. This means it can satisfy the water quality requirements on appropriate projects without the need for additional treatment equipment, meaning significant savings on capital and operational costs.
StormTech is a versatile and effective alternative to crates, combining arch-shaped chambers with an integrated water quality treatment system. This, the Isolator Row, provides ‘first flush’ cleansing and treatment of storm water run-off. Featuring a range of chamber sizes, StormTech is especially suited to applications requiring minimum cover under trafficked areas and fast construction, and, as units are stackable, minimal space is required for storage and transport.

12. Bullfix fixes it
Bullfix is a reliable plasterboard fixing for use across all types of plasterboard, thanks to its patented smart wings technology. Invented by builder Mark Howe, who was fed up of failing fixings, Bullfix Universal will hold up to 116kg, and is suitable for dot and dab, stud walls and insulation backed plasterboard. Only a 7mm cavity is required. The fixing screw hole is only lined up properly when the smartwings are fully deployed, so it can’t be used unless properly inserted.

Bullfix Extra has the same design, but longer wings, which will support 133kg. A 20mm cavity is required for this product. The Bullfix offer also includes Heavy duty hooks and safety latch, cabinet brackets, and Solutions packs - an extended range of kits which provide customers with everything they need to hang radiators, TV brackets, pictures/ mirrors, cabinets and heavy shelves.
