IBMG members offer £2,000 to transform community spaces
Parker Building Supplies, Chandlers Building Supplies, and Fairalls Builders Merchants are calling on local schools, nursing homes, hospitals, charities and other institutes to put themselves forward for a chance to win £2,000 worth of landscaping materials to support local projects.
The Community Landscaping Challenge aims to champion organisations that are working to improve outdoor spaces for the people they support — whether that’s creating a sensory garden, revamping a tired courtyard, building raised beds, or completing a community project.
Pyroguard summits Snowdon in charity challenge
Manufacturer Pyroguard has raised over £4,000 for mental health charity, Men’s Minds Matter, after a team of employees completed a sunrise ascent of Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) to shine a light on men’s mental health. Twenty employees took on the nine-mile overnight hike to the summit of Wales’s highest mountain, the fundraiser was organised in memory of colleague Mikey Shoer, Pyroguard’s former technical sales manager for Ireland. Men’s Minds Matter is a UK- based suicide prevention charity dedicated to saving lives through psychological support, education and early intervention. The organisation works to support individuals experiencing suicidal thoughts, while also equipping families, friends and professionals with the tools to provide effective help.
Bristan races for change to promote inclusivity and tackle water scarcity
A major new charity initiative for the construction industry, Race for Change, has officially opened for entries. Focused on the twin themes of inclusivity and global water scarcity, the event will see 20 teams compete in a unique four-day race across Europe in June 2026, all in support of vital WASH (water, sanitation and hygiene) and gender-equality programmes delivered by charity partner The Cycle.
Inspired by the hit TV show Race Across the World, Race for Change will drop teams of three into an undisclosed European location on 19 June 2026,

challenging them to navigate back to the UK over four days with no phones and a strictly limited budget. The race will end at the Bristan stand at the 2026 InstallerSHOW.
Each team must include at least two members who represent diverse characteristics, to do with gender, ethnicity, neurodivergence, disability, or sexuality.
Along the route, teams will take part in challenges designed to raise awareness of water scarcity - supported by Waterwise - and inclusivity, in partnership with the Construction Inclusion Coalition.
Jewson, part of the STARK group, has launched the next stage of its landscaping campaign for 2026 with a landscaping competition. This year, there are three different categories – outdoor living, driveways and sustainable choices.
Entries can be made from 23 April by tagging Jewson in an Instagram or Facebook post sharing a ‘before and after’ with the caption: #MyJewsonProject. Entries close May 31,
Judges will select a shortlist of the four best projects from each category, to be followed by a public vote between June 6-10. The winners in each category will be announced on 12 June, with an overall winner selected
from the three category winners, to be announced by footballer Jimmy Bullard. The winner of each category will win a £200 shopping voucher to purchase a barbecue, plus £200 in Jewson credit, while the overall winner will also win a £500 voucher to spend on garden furniture. STARK Building Materials UK marketing director, Tessa Viller, said: “Landscaping is a trade that demands a huge amount of skill, resilience and pride in the finish, and it’s something we see day in, day out from our customers. This competition is about recognising that effort and giving it the spotlight it deserves.”

Each team will commit to raising a minimum of £2,500, with half donated to The Cycle and half to their own corporate charity.
In addition, teams must pay a £2,500 entry fee, which supports the delivery of the event.
