BMJ is delighted to announce that award-winning impressionist Jon Culshaw is to take to the stage in September as the host of this year’s BMJ Industry Awards.

The inimitable master of comedic guise, he is widely regarded as Britain’s best impressionist, and comes with a resume showcasing his strengths as an actor, comedian, voiceover artist and presenter. His notable credits include Spitting Image, Dead Ringers, The Sky At Night and The Now Show.

With a catalogue of over 350 voices and impersonations, including Boris Johnson, Donald Trump, Professor Brian Cox, Nigel Farage, Alan Carr, John Bishop, Ozzy Osborne, Chris Eubank, Michael McIntyre and King Charles amongst many others, he first made international headlines in 1998 by calling the switchboard of No. 10 Downing Street and fooling the operators with his impression of William Hague, and as a result was put directly through to the then Prime Minister Tony Blair. The incident was mentioned at Prime Minister’s Question Time and reported across the national press and in Hansard.

Culshaw has been cast in the iconic Midsomer Murders and played Boris Johnson in RTS award winning Channel 4 docudrama Partygate. His love of the outdoors, history, and national heritage has seen him present C5’s The Secrets of The National Trust and More 4’s Walks With My Dog. He has also narrated comedy specials including tributes to both Kenneth Williams and Bob Monkhouse for Channel 5, and has provided countless character voices and commentaries for the multi-award winning CBBC show Horrible Histories since its first TV outing in 2009.

A lifelong astronomy enthusiast, he was also a part of the presenting team on the world’s iconic and longest running programme, The Sky at Night, first appearing with Sir Patrick Moore on the show’s 50th anniversary.

On stage Jon has played King Arthur in the West End revival of Monty Python’s ‘Spamalot’, and recently performed as 'Mr Starmaker' Hughie Green in 'LENA', a powerful play written by the BAFTA and Olivier Award-winning Tim Whitnall. He also performed at the iconic Edinburgh Festival in 'Les Dawson: Flying High' a funny, affectionate and poignant celebration of his comedy hero, written by Tim Whitnall and directed by Bob Golding. His one man portrayal of the comedy great received rave reviews and Jon subsequently toured the production playing to audiences across the UK.

Hugely popular on the live and touring circuit, following a sold out and critically acclaimed season at the Edinburgh Festival, 2025 saw Culshaw take to the stage across the country with his one man show 'Jon Culshaw: Imposter Syndrome'; a show that sees him anecdotally conjure up an array of impressions from the worlds of entertainment, politics, and beyond in his trademark style.

He will also embark on his newly announced 2027 tour, Jon Culshaw: Me, Myself & Others, starting in February next year.
