RGB partners with Children’s Hospice South West
RGB Building Supplies has selected Children’s Hospice South West as its charity partner for 2023-24, and will be organising branch-wide fundraising events throughout the next 12 months.
Children’s Hospice South West, founded in 1991, provides care for children and young people with life- limiting conditions and their families, including respite and short breaks, emergency care, palliative and end- of-life care.
Jenny Naylor, managing director of RGB, said: “We
are proud to announce Children’s Hospice South West as our charity of the year. Their incredible work to provide care and support to children with life-limiting conditions and their families is truly inspiring. As a company, we believe it is important to give back to our community and support those in need. We’re honoured to support the charity for the next 12 months and have some exciting fundraising ideas in the pipeline to contribute to this worthy cause.”
City Plumbing apprentice scoops City prize
City Plumbing Spares apprentice, Leo Brigham, has been awarded the City & Guilds Livery Company Prize for 2023 by the Worshipful Company of Builders’ Merchants. Leo started his
apprenticeship with City Plumbing in 2021 and was the first learner to complete the programme of study in the first ever cohort for the Spares Specialist training programme.
In completing his Level 2 qualification, Leo dropped only three marks across his entire portfolio and assessment, earning him a distinction and catching the
eye of the Worshipful Company of Builders’ Merchants, who bestow the prize annually.

Leo started his apprenticeship soon after joining City Plumbing and was keen to pursue his ambition of becoming a fully-qualified Spares at City Plumbing manager in the future. He has continued to draw praise from local managers and the regional director for his hard work, commitment and attitude to work. By building strong relationships throughout the branch network and with customers, he is already contributing to the branch’s success. Livery Company Prizes honour outstanding achievements from students or tutors who have taken or taught City & Guilds qualifications in the trade of a Livery Company and are presented through the City & Guilds of London Institute.
