Polypipe has a long history of supporting UK cycling through lo- cal events, long-term sponsorship of the hugely successful MI Racing Team, and regular participation by staff in cycle races in the UK and across Europe.

The company will provide the

team with vital funding and a range of marketing support to raise the profile and highlight the successes of the team during the season.

Polypipe will also be work- ing with the professional team to raise the profile of cycling as a hobby and a path to fitness amongst Polypipe employees. This will take the form of an RFDA led ride and advice on training and nutrition from the RFDA support team later in the year.

Elliotts Sponsors Football Club

Community Facility

Elliotts Builders Merchant has sponsored the new community changing room at Eastleigh Football Club. Materials including

ROCKWOOL, the insulation specialist, has won the Supplier of the Year title from SIG, the specialist distributor of insulation, dry lining and related products to the construction industry. The award was presented to ROCKWOOL at the 2019 SIG Sales Conference held this month at the De Vere Water Park in the Cotswolds, and was voted for by SIG’s internal and external teams.

Gemma Prince, Head of Category – Insulation at SIG Distribution said: “It’s a recognition of the speed and excellence of ROCKWOOL’s customer support and technical guidance, the company’s 100% commitment to SIG and the quality of the product range ROCKWOOL provides. It’s a hard-earned win for the whole ROCKWOOL team and thoroughly well deserved.”

timber, MDF and paint were donated by Elliotts Builders Merchant in Southampton to help the football club provide a new changing space for their walking football, PAN disability and ladies football teams. “We are really pleased to have been able to support Eastleigh Football Club and provide the materials needed to complete their new changing facility. There is a strong sense of community at the club which we are proud to be a part of.” said Elliotts Southampton Branch Manager, Richard Sheath.

The new changing facility will provide a much-needed space away from the main changing rooms, which are in full-time use by the First Team. Having once used classrooms and old garages to change in, the Eastleigh Walking Football team volunteered their time to transform the new space, with the support of local builders. “Opening the Elliotts Community changing room is a massive boost for the club. We are striving to be a football hub for the Eastleigh community but have struggled with facilities on site.” said Kenny Amor, Chief Executive at Eastleigh Football Club.

Jewson’s Building better communities winner

Volunteers from across the North East have rallied together to build a brand-new garden for Jewson Building Better Communities 2018 winner, Headway Darlington. Headway is a charity dedicated to improving the lives of those who have suffered brain injuries, and their families. The Darlington group won £4,000 worth of building materials earlier this year, as part of the competition by builders’ merchant Jewson.

The team transformed the grey front of the building into a beautiful garden.

Amy Crosby, fundraising coordinator at Headway Darlington, said: “This garden will go such a long way in supporting our beneficiaries. We know that spending time outside can be really therapeutic, so we’re going to set up a gardening club that helps the people who visit us make the most of this.

“The support we’ve

received from Jewson and the wider community has been overwhelming, and we’re so grateful to those who helped

make this garden possible.” Graeme Wilson, who works at the Jewson branch on Lingfield Way in Darlington, added: “Local projects like Headway Darlington do so much for the communities they serve, and it’s important that companies like ours give something back to say thank you. “Seeing people from across the region get stuck in to make this possible has been fantastic, thank you to everyone who gave their time, their support and everything in between.”
