1. Cembrit adds contemporary look Cembrit Westerland slates have been used on a project to upgrade a 1920s bungalow in Norfolk to provide a natural roof finish that complemented the new look of the prop- erty. Cembrit Westerland slates were chosen because they are lightweight and, being ex- tremely thin, meant the rafter line could be raised by 3” to allow for an extra 2” of insula- tion. In total, 3,000 Westerland slates and 30 metres of Cembrit Slate Duopitch Ridge Ventilation were used along with Cembrit PVC dry verges, which created a consistent finish across the roof. Cembrit’s Westerland slate has a surface texture and dressed edge similar to that of natural slate but does not need grading and sorting prior to installation. 020 3372 2300

6. Safeguard’s Stormdry now in 1 litre Safeguard Europe is now offering its Stormdry Masonry Protection Cream in handy one litre tubs; providing a cost-effective solution for those dealing with localised rain ingress through masonry. Stormdry Masonry Protection Cream stops rain penetrating external walls, keeping them warm and dry. Unlike other rain penetration and damp-proofing treatments, Stormdry lines the pores of the masonry so that water can escape as vapour but cannot enter in liquid form. Stormdry cures colourlessly to the original finish of masonry in just 12 hours. The cream penetrates up to 12mm in fletton bricks – so that it can also bridge cracks and better keep out moisture. Stormdry also comes in three, five and 20 litre tubs. 01403 210 204
