BREEDON GROUP’S COMMITMENT TO EXCELLENCE AT BMJ INDUSTRY AWARDS

nce again, Breedon Tile and Kingscourt Brick are delighted to support the BMJ Awards and sponsor the Merchant Marketing Initiative category for the third
consecutive year.
Independent builders’ merchants are the lifeblood of our business, with over 70% of our turnover generated through partnerships with independent merchants and roofing specialists. I’m pleased to report that our £7 million investment in a state-of-the-art tile plant, announced last year, has been well received by the market. The increased production capacity is already being utilised, with tile sales exceeding 2024 volumes. Our new facility is among the most environmentally friendly tile factories in the world, achieving a significant reduction in energy consumption per thousand tiles produced. All electricity used is 100% green, and we now recycle all waste materials. These enhancements to our operational footprint have broadened the appeal of Breedon Tile across all market channels and are a key driver behind the influx of new
customers choosing Breedon Tile for the first time. Kingscourt Brick continues to experience strong demand, supported by improvements in the UK new housing and RMI markets. Our product range includes over 20 brick types, available in both 65mm and 73mm size formats. We have planning permission to extract Keuper Marl from our site for the next 20 years, with additional reserves available for future activation. Keuper Marl is the material of choice for many housebuilders and specifiers of clay brick, allowing us to produce a wide variety of richly coloured bricks that lend distinctive character to any finished brickwork. Kingscourt is committed to reducing its environmental footprint and has ambitious plans to significantly lower its carbon emissions and embedded energy levels in the coming years. We are currently one of a small number of European brick manufacturers to provide Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) across our entire product range.
