PLASTICS DISTRIBUTOR GOES FOR DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION
Plumbing and heating distributor E.Tupling, has integrated K8 from Kerridge Commercial Systems (KCS) across their business, as BMJ finds out

stablished in 1966, E.Tupling has consistently worked to outperform their competitors by promptly fulfilling customer orders and offering quality brands at competitive prices. Until recently, that was from their Warrington headquarters. However, they now also operate from a brand- new fulfilment centre in London. Due to remarkable growth and increased demand over the last five years, E.Tupling recognised that an ERP system upgrade was also necessary. “Our old system could no longer serve our needs,” explains Ross Duncanson, E.Tupling’s director, “so we could see that upgrading our software solution was imperative.” After completing comprehensive research, the K8 solution emerged as their system of choice.
K8 is a cloud-based enterprise resource planning (ERP) system which E.Tupling has implemented to help streamline processes, improve customer service, and maximise profits.

Since implementation, one of the biggest benefits E.Tupling has noticed about K8 is the inter-department visibility. ‘With K8, we’re all aware of everything happening in the business in real-time,” explains Chloe Watkinson, customer services supervisor, as she highlights an example. “If customers want an update on their delivery status, we can give them
that immediately without looking through the paperwork to find the proof-of-delivery.” Another significant benefit of K8 is how it integrates with various mobile apps, which staff can use to complete tasks on the road, such as with ePOD, or in the warehouse. ePICK, for example, simplifies tasks for E.Tupling’s team, ensuring swift and accurate product dispatches. It explained that the app is also easy to use, so new staff can start using it with minimal training.

with Web Trade. As a B2B trading portal, Web Trade allows businesses to display real-time stock and pricing details from their ERP system to trade customers online. So far, it’s been a significant improvement, especially since E.Tupling’s previous online ordering system caused many issues with sales unable to update the stock availability until 6 p.m. “It’s given me a new and effective way of communicating with the customers through banners and instant news feeds,” says Claire Briars, E.Tupling’s marketing manager, “which is a really valuable additional marketing channel to now have.”
The transition to Web Trade has created a more cohesive and efficient digital buying experience for E.Tupling’s trade customers, who can now access over 4,500 products with current pricing and stock details.
Meanwhile, the seamless integration of Web Trade with K8 ensures orders flow directly into the system for processing, saving significant time and operational expense. Throughout this digital transformation, the E.Tupling team have been impressed by the unwavering support from KCS. Looking ahead, Ross and his fellow directors are optimistic about future investments in KCS products, which they expect to help them further drive efficiencies and improve customer service. BMJ
