Working towards our 100% circular design manifesto
Caring for the environment is a real commitment and a thorough business! It means caring for others, caring for the earth, and maintaining its precious resources for the next generation, and generations to come. We all have a part to play in creating a beautiful future. At Brabantia, we hope our collections set the bar.
since 2014. WeForest is committed to reforesting Africa’s degraded lands, with the goal of delivering lasting solutions for climate, nature and people. Together with WeForest, we have planted over 2.5 million trees and counting (with every sale of a Brabantia rotary dryer or drying rack helping us to continue our partnership and help their cause!)
Our new manifesto We work to design products that are beautiful inside and out; products that are both sleek and sustainable. It is important now more than ever to consider how every action we take and product we manufacture counts. So now, our goal is to move to 100% circular design by 2035. Circular design is incredibly thorough- it involves every part of the production and aftercare of our products, from the use of renewable energy and recycled materials to clean wastewater and recyclable products.
Why now? 90% of our products are already Cradle to Cradle certified at bronze and silver level. That is 52 products at silver level and hundreds more at bronze! The Cradle to Cradle institute measures the likes of material quality, water and carbon management and more. We are continuously improving our standard in these categories, as we know that we can always do more. Brabantia has been helping consumers lead a sustainable lifestyle for some time now – for example, our rotaries and drying racks encourage drying naturally all year round, and we have a plethora of waste management products that promote waste separation and the recycling of household waste. Now that it’s within our grasp to build recyclability into our products themselves, we know that we can be successful in our goal of becoming 100% circular.
“We work to design products that are beautiful inside and out; products that are both sleek and sustainable. It is important now more than ever to consider how every action we take and product we manufacture counts.”
Partnerships Brabantia is always looking for eco-friendly causes to support. We have worked with the likes of The Ocean Cleanup (2016- 2020), The Hunger Project (2017- 2020) and we have been supporting WeForest

Our new favourite At the end of 2021, we took a major step towards our sustainability goals with the introduction of our StepUp pedal bin, which is made from 91% post-consumer waste and Cradle to Cradle certified at silver level.
Stepping up We look forward to continuing to improve our name in sustainable homeware design, and to rollout our circular design manifesto as far as we can throughout our remaining products and new designs. We believe change is possible, and even making small changes to your lifestyle at home can make a big difference- from recycling waste to buying recycled products to put your recycling in!
