HOUSEWARES MAGAZINE CHRISTMAS COMPETITION Runner-up: Kooks Unlimited, Richmond

Kooks Unlimited in Richmond was named a worthy runner-up, impressing the judging panel with a fantastic festive window display that combined creativity with strong product presentation. Carefully styled and thoughtfully arranged, the display made excellent use of lighting to showcase key products, creating a warm and inviting scene after dark. By day, the window drew attention with its clear merchandising and festive flair, while at night the illuminated elements added depth and visual impact, ensuring the display continued to stand out on the high street. The judges praised the retailer’s ability to balance seasonal theatre with commercial focus, making it an eye-catching and effective festive showcase.

Runner-up: Webbs of Tenterden, Kent

Webbs of Tenterden was named a deserving runner-up after impressing the judges with a bold and immersive festive display that extended beyond the shop window and into the store itself. For Christmas, the team embraced a colourful and nostalgic theme, creating a vibrant seasonal environment that resonated strongly with customers. The display proved particularly popular, with shoppers commenting on how the decorations evoked fond childhood memories — a testament to the emotional connection the team successfully created. Judges also praised the retailer’s willingness to go “all out” for the festive season, transforming the store at a time when footfall was exceptionally strong. Adding to the festive effort, the team produced the first-ever Webbs Christmas advert, written, directed and produced in-house. Shared across Instagram and Facebook, the campaign was very well received and further demonstrated the retailer’s creativity, enthusiasm and commitment to engaging its local community during the key trading period.
