H

osted by independent buying group AIS (Associated Independent Stores), The Housewares Show is open to AIS members

only on August 13 and then open to all independent buyers on August 14. The event takes place in the showroom of AIS’ Cranmore Park Exhibitor Centre at Solihull in the West Midlands. With product categories including Cookshop,

Tabletop, SDA, Home Fragrance, Glassware and Home Gifts, the show will exhibit products from an extensive brand list. New exhibitors to the show include PHA KitchEssentials, Princess, The Art Group, Laura Ashley, JWP and Wonderchef. They will join established exhibitors including Denby, Wrendale Designs, Royal Doulton, Samsung, Nespresso, Horwood, Brabantia and Thermos. Dedicated trend areas scattered across the

showroom will highlight key themes which have influenced this season’s product selection, including sustainable and eco-friendly products. AIS homewares controller Deborah Goulthorpe commented: “Consumers are looking for more eco- friendly items and many of our key suppliers have not disappointed with their ranges.” This year, the environmentally-friendly offering will include Smidge’s selection of reusable bottles, coffee cups, wood fibre chopping boards and silicone lids; along with Eddingtons’ If You Care range; and Packit freezable lunch bags and Stasher’s range of reusable bags from PHA KitchEssentials.

Meyer Group

Kitchenware supplier Meyer Group will be showcasing launches from its Circulon and Prestige brands. Highlights include two new Circulon ranges: Total and Excellence. The new collections ‘bring excellent technology to the kitchen through their built in circular hollow grooves, creating exceptional non- stick surfaces’. Also on display will be Prestige’s Thermo Smart, Diamond Shield and Pointless knives. This brand recently had a complete refresh including new packaging complemented by an extensive retailer support package. Meyer Group says: ‘Our new vibrant and contemporary packaging, combined with our recently launched digital campaign, creates a strong cohesive story across all platforms. We look forward to seeing all of our customers.’

PHA KitchEssentials

On show will be the award-winning Stasher bags from the US. Billed as the first of their type in the world, these reusable self-sealing plastic-free storage bags are freezer-, microwave- and dishwasher-safe, and feature a patented airtight Pinch-Loc seal. The newest star in the Stasher line-up is the Stand-Up, described as ‘the perfect solution for bulk food items and ideal for travel toiletries’. Each Stasher bag is free from BPA and contains no fillers, phthalates, latex or petroleum by-products. It is made from pure-platinum silicone, which makes it a lightweight alternative to other sustainable storage materials such as glass and aluminium.
