OUR BRAND CSR

Corporate Social Responsibility

The CSR strategy has been incorporated within the CORE decision-making process from the outset and continues to be regularly reviewed to see if processes can be improved further. This continuous development ensures CORE is acting responsibly within the HVAC sector with the support of stakeholders, like our customers and staff.

Nothing gets authorisation without our distribution partners’ approval. Therefore, all manufacturers must conform to both CORE and Smith Brothers standards. This approach is comprehensive and ensures standards remain high.

Environmental Commitment

SBS are on the ISO 14001 accreditation journey and are on course for approval in 2024. The impending accreditation signifies efforts in the operation to mitigate environmental impacts within the processes.

Packaging is a key focal point within both CORE and Smith Brothers, reducing and sourcing sustainable, recyclable material when available without compromising the objective of safe housing and transportation of the products.

The transportation services provided by SBS are backed up with FORS Gold certification, which tangibly confirms the commitment to reducing emissions, noise pollution and improving safety standards. The work done in this area was

recognised by industry experts at The Great British Fleet Awards in April 2024, with Smith Brothers winning the Fleet Manager Superstar award.

If you’re reading this text from a hard copy brochure, you’ll notice on the back how our printed literature is done on carbon-balanced paper stock accredited by the World Land Trust and obtained from responsible sources which are FSC endorsed.

Ethical Sourcing

The business does not tolerate slavery or human trafficking in any part of our business, and is committed to ensuring this does not take place in our supply chain. Our commitment is set out clearly within the Modern Slavery Policy publicly viewable online at sbs.co.uk. These transparent and robust reporting systems promote best practices and ensure that commitments are ingrained throughout procedures, from staff recruitment to on-site factory visits.

At the time of publication, key personnel within both operations (SBS & CORE) are multilingual and can ensure nothing is ‘lost in translation’ during communications when confirming the standards required, even attending factory visits when needed.

With Smith Brothers also holding ISO 9001 accreditation, the auditing process also encompasses quality measures which ensure the manufacturing chain is not only

fit for purpose, but also meets the necessary standards required within the HVAC marketplace.
