PRODUCT NEWS

Taylor

Taylor UK is now supplying the new Twist range of batch freezers from Frigomat. Designed to make ice cream or gelato, the Twist includes an innovative automatic cleaning system that makes manual cleaning unnecessary, helping to increase productivity and reduce downtime. The Twist comes in a number of models with diff erent production capacities, from the Twist 35, which makes up to 35kg per day, up to 100kg a day for the Twist 100. The exact output depends on the product being made and the consistency of the mix. The range of models makes the Twist a great choice for dedicated ice cream or gelato parlours or businesses looking to add frozen treats to their existing off ering. It uses Frigomat’s specialist technology, which can freeze a variety of products to the desired consistency, time after time. The process is controlled via a touch screen interface, which contains a number of preset recipes that can be fully customised according to requirements. Conventional batch freezers require the internal system to be manually cleaned between batches, which is time consuming and requires trained staff to ensure correct sanitisation. What sets the Twist apart is its washing system. Using the touch screen, the operator can choose from a selection of cleaning cycles, each of which has been optimised for a specifi c purpose. www.taylor-company.co.uk.

Daikin

Daikin continues to push boundaries in order to create more sustainable solutions, enhance performance in use and reduce its environmental footprint.

The new VRV 5 S-series is the latest evolution in Daikin’s portfolio development, which the business is striving to fully convert to lower GWP (Global Warming Potential) refrigerants.

Daikin’s most sustainable solution yet, this all-round performer covers all mini VRV applications. Its market-leading real life seasonal effi ciency and use of R32 refrigerant allows the VRV 5 series to off er superior environmental performance throughout the entire product lifecycle.

Fully optimised for installation in rooms as small as 10m2, its factory-mounted refrigerant response measures mean no additional leak detection is required. What’s more, thanks to the system’s ergonomic design, both installation and handling are simplifi ed, with its wide access area enabling components to be easily reached within the low-profi le single fan casing. In use, the VRV 5 series delivers best-in-class design versatility, with sound pressure levels down to 39 db(A) and automatic ESP setting up to 45 Pa allowing for ductwork; while the intuitive online and voice controls, compatible with leading smart home technology, off er maximum user comfort.

Toshiba

The latest generation of Toshiba Carrier UK’s Mini TouchScreen air conditioning controller, designed for use with Toshiba air conditioning systems, off ers enhanced capabilities that extend its application to offi ces and commercial buildings. Originally developed for use with Toshiba air conditioning in

hotels, the Mini Touchscreen room controller has an intuitive touch- sensitive interface that operates on the same principles as a high-end smartphone. It is designed to be easy to use for end users and quick and simple to install for contractors. The latest version, Series 2, now includes a full function seven-day timer, enabling users to program up to eight events a day across the week, with the ability to schedule On/Off status, Mode and Temperature settings to optimise both energy savings and indoor comfort. The updated unit also has a frost protection function that maintains a temperature above 8°C, ensuring the fabric of buildings and their services are protected in the event of freezing outside ambient temperatures. The Mini TouchScreen uses the same two-wire connectivity as a

standard wall controller, enabling it to be quickly installed without adding an external power supply on new projects and as an upgrade on existing systems.

Bitzer has increased the operating envelopes of its CSH screw compressors, making them even more energy efficient and suitable for extended use in large scale industrial heat pumps. The CSH series can now be operated with R134a, R513A and R1234yf up to a maximum evaporation temperature of 30 °C and maximum condensing temperature up to 80 °C. With R1234zeE and R515B, even maximum temperatures of 40 °C in evaporation and 93 °C in condensation are achievable. In economiser operation and with the refrigerant R1234zeE, the largest approved CSH screw compressor supplies around 1,000 kW of heating capacity at 35 °C evaporation temperature and 80 °C condensing temperature.
