Harvard Power Systems
Harvard Power Systems’ new range of high specification LED drivers, the CoolLED PRO CLi Series LED, come in 15W, 25W and 40W versions. They are 100 to 1400mA
programmable, able to drive as low as 2.5Vdc for just one single LED; they have a touch/push to dim function and also a corridor/switch dim function.
These high-performance LED drivers are designed for remote, independent installation for which cable clamp/covers are supplied. All of the new drivers are ultra-compact. The 15W drivers fit through a 40mm hole and the 25W and 40W drivers fit through a 56mm hole. They are also future proof, having a connection port for wireless devices to connect.
As well as DALI dimmable versions, the CLi Series LED drivers includes 0-10V dimmable types with a fully isolated analogue dimming circuit to comply with the new standards and regulations. This new range of drivers come with a five-year warranty, are SELV compliant, have wireless control options, and are compatible for emergency applications. They have low audible noise below 20dBA.

Refrion
Refrion’s Ecooler is a dry cooler that meets the growing demand of ‘free cooling’ applications. It combines Refrion technology of oval tubing with the PADS adiabatic system.
Using finned pack heat exchangers
with oval tubing minimises load losses and achieves up to 15% greater performance. The adiabatic panels reduce the temperature of the air entering the unit by up to 10°K and the addition of the circulation system drastically reduces water consumption (up to 60%). Pairing the PADS adiabatic system with ‘EC’ electronically commutated fans, Ecooler allows for further reduction both in electrical energy consumption and noise emission levels.
An example of this performance is Refrion’s installation of a cooling system for the data centre of an English bank, for which a total of eight Ecooler units combined with chillers and cooling water were installed between 2016 and 2018. The new system, in which the Refrion Ecoolers are the main units for energy saving, recorded energy optimisation of nearly 70%.

Hubbard Dunham-Bush
Dunham-Bush Panther fan coil units have been installed at the Glasgow Dental School. Fitted in the Restorative Clinic at level six of the building by contractors, James Frew, these units were selected for their quiet powerful operation, energy efficiency and easy access for on-going maintenance. Dunham-Bush fan coil units are high performance units providing comfort cooling and heating. Air volume, low noise and budget constraints are all catered for by the comprehensive range of models with typical applications.
All models in the Panther range now feature EC external rotor motor or twin shaft motors. Hubbard’s latest Scotsman, the NU H 100, is aimed at the coffee shop market. It is a compact undercounter machine producing ice that looks great in iced coffees, but which is also kind to blender blades for blended drinks. The NU H 100 produces large quantities of ice and has a 20kg integral storage bin so that it can cope during busy periods with ease. Because the NU H 100’s airflow in and out is to the front, there’s no need to leave space at the sides or back for ventilation. This, combined with its small size (it measures just 600mm wide by 610mm deep and 744mm high), means it can be fitted into the tightest of spaces. Even so, it can produce up to 56kg of ice per day. The NU H 100 makes half dice ice. These narrow, rectangular cubes weigh 6g, are softer than gourmet ice cubes and smaller than standard dice cubes, which is why they blend more easily. However, they are also clear, attractive and long lasting when used to chill non-blended drinks. Their large surface area means they cool effectively and quickly. It’s also very practical: for example, the one-touch cleaning system saves time and cost, while the air condenser is easy to access for do-it- yourself cleaning.
