ABB

ABB has invested signifi cantly in the roll-out of a variable speed drive hire fl eet across the United Kingdom and Ireland, with units extending from 3kW up to several megawatts. Hire drives can be delivered the

same day, and installed and commissioned within a matter of hours by engineers from one of 12 ABB authorised value providers. With a fast response 24 hours a day, all year round, no other drive hire scheme off ers such wide geographical coverage across the UK and Ireland.

Customers can choose from a wide range of drives, including the ABB general purpose drive, ABB machinery drive and ABB industrial drive. All are fully maintained and pre-loaded with the latest fi rmware. Drives are hired at a fi xed daily rate (minimum hire period may apply), which includes all installation and maintenance for the duration of the hire.

The Achelous AVX-B Series of air cooled chillers from Dunham-Bush off ers cooling capacities from 400-1650kW and a design which places emphasis on maximum cooling, utilising the least power input over the operating range of a building. This is achieved by using the latest

generation of Dunham-Bush’s advanced MSC vertical screw compressor with built-in variable frequency drive (VFD), off ering the customer superior part load energy effi ciency. What really sets this range apart is its combination of high energy effi ciency, ease of installation, and advanced control fl exibility with Dunham-Bush’s latest Vision 2020i controller and performance reliability.

Key features of the range include multiple compressor models, independent refrigerant circuits per compressor, shell and tube fl ooded heat exchangers for reduced energy consumption, AHRI certifi cation with ESEER rating to 5.2, and the ability to operate at ambient temperatures between -10 and 52°C. In addition to chiller manufacturing, Dunham-Bush is one of Europe’s largest manufacturers and distributors of heat emitters, including LST radiators, radiant panels, fan convectors, door curtains, trench and perimeter heating, fan coil units and low energy ventilation units for classrooms.

CIAT

CIAT has achieved Eurovent’s top air- tightness rating for its Floway range of compact, high performance air handling units.

Air leakage from the system is

minimised to negligible levels, enabling the units to operate at a high level of energy effi ciency for better system performance and lower operational costs.

The new Floway system remains highly cost-competitive, but is suitable for high specifi cation projects requiring the highest levels of effi ciency and performance, such as premium offi ce buildings, hotels, leisure facilities, public buildings, universities and hospitals. It is available in three models, Classic, Vertical and Ceiling-mounted, plus the Floway DX, which combines a Floway system with a high effi ciency DX unit for integrated heating and cooling in one package, backed by Toshiba Carrier UK as a single supplier for total peace of mind.

CIAT’s Floway system has been developed and tested in its research and development centre at Culoz, France. Test rooms replicate real-life climatic conditions and environments, enabling tests of air-tightness, panel insulation, acoustics, heat recovery performance and controls to be carried out to internationally recognised Eurovent standards. www.ciat.uk.com
