Cutting technologyfor converting professionals

High flexibility, consistent quality and reliable processes are the basis for customer satisfaction and high productivity

cutting specialist, is extending its plant in Trasdorf, Austria and is establishing new agencies in the UAE and Russia. The multi-branch German-Austrian company is characterised in the die- cutting sector by its wealth of experience and tool making know-how. An ability to transform customer requirements and needs into a coherent and transparent machine design forms the foundation on which Mendel RG-Systems, together with RAUCH - a leading supplier of foil cutting technology - has been built. therefore emphasis is placed on flexibility whilst using cutting tools and embossing units. The production parameters for each separate application are stored in the software and can be accessed again, at any time, for corresponding processes. Therefore it can be helpful to identify applications that can be applicable to more than one process and to change between these rapidly. An ongoing challenge is cutting thin

materials with the thickness having been reduced due to cost. When using the latest tool making production technology, both the cutting die and the dies are manufactured completely in the carbide design (Tungsten Carbide); this achieves an approximate 25-30 per cent rise in life-long performance and significantly improves precision compared to

n order to withstand the challenges of the following years the Mendel/Rauch Group, leading die-

conventional methods. An applicable and versatile cutting

system has been constructed by using fast and precise drive technology, which also synchronises quickly and reliably with the pneumatic element. This can be productive for aluminium foil, plastic webs, composite materials, paper rolls and additionally, comes with an in-line integrated embossing station for full, partial and logo embossing

on web widths of 250mm to 560 mm. In addition to the high standard of the equipment already placed within the machine, an extensive range of optional equipment, data communication and adaptable scanning systems provide limitless production options, for flat or deep drawn aluminium covers (fully or partially embossed), flat covers and plastic, composite webs or paper labels. Furthermore, existing tools (external tools) can also be adapted completely, provided the installation dimensions allow. As shown and demonstrated at drupa 2016, the new Clever Stamp system enables further expansion within the existing range of product design as well as partial and logo embossing, and braille writing. The arrangement of the cavities in the cutting tool has been considered in order to save on material applications, such as perforating, die-cutting and deep drawing in a progressive die method. As a flexible, economic system used in web material refiners and converters around the world, it is clear that this is an all-rounded complete cutting system.
