Cadbury Dairy Milk expands its range with new 30% less
sugar choice Cadbury Dairy Milk, which has been around since 1905, has added Cadbury Dairy Milk 30% Less Sugar to its range. The introduction of the new bar marks the three-year achievement of over 20 scientists, nutritionists and chocolatiers to achieve 30% less sugar with no artificial sweeteners. The new addition, which marks the most significant innovation in
the brand’s history, is available now alongside the Cadbury Dairy Milk bar as well as other favourites including Cadbury Dairy Milk Caramel, Cadbury Dairy Milk Fruit & Nut and Cadbury Dairy Milk Oreo. Cadbury Dairy Milk 30% Less Sugar offers consumers greater choice when it comes to enjoying their favourite chocolate bar. VENDING IN BRIEF TEA SALES UP
Packaging company Aegg is expanding due to a big increase in demand for glass, by preparing to open its first major warehouse facilities near Eye, Suffolk UK later this year. Its first major warehouse comprises 60,000 sq feet (with the ability to be expanded to 100,000 sq feet) alongside a facility for the manufacture of rigid, recyclable plastic food packaging.
ROBOTIC TECHNOLOGY
Coca-Cola European Partners (CCEP), piloted robotic technology to deliver beverages to consumers at UK theme park Alton Towers during the summer months. The robot collects products from the Alton Towers distribution centre and delivers them to drinks outlets across the park, using artificial intelligence to manoeuvre around visitors during the peak season.
NEW COFFEE SHOP
Speciality coffee roaster 200 Degrees has opened a second coffee shop in central Birmingham, offering handcrafted coffee and food to the bustling area surrounding Birmingham New Street station. The opening of the new 65-seater coffee shop situated on Lower Temple Street, follows the success of its coffee shop and barista school on Colmore Row which opened in the heart of the business district in 2016.
SALES FOCUS AT EVOCA
Craig Jukes has been appointed sales director, UK & Ireland, for Evoca UK. Evoca believes the time is right to give sales top priority to ensure that the UK and Ireland market is fully aware of its market-leading products.
Craig said: “I firmly believe we need to change our approach to meet the demands of our customers. A consultative sales team should focus on understanding customer needs and evaluating which products and services fit them best.”
Tea sales out-of-home are continuing to boom with sales expected to reach £329m for the year 2019, representing annual growth of 8.9%. The World Coffee Portal Allegra Project Tea UK 2019 report, also estimated that 3.6M hot tea beverages are served across the UK’s specialised coffee shop segment every week, comprising 4.4% of the average UK coffee shop sales mix.

Mondelez is offering over 70 early career paths into Mondelez International for 2020, with apprenticeships, internships and graduate scheme openings now live at its Bournville, Sheffield, Uxbridge and Reading sites. Starting in July 2020 and September 2020 Mondelez is looking for new talent across the country.
CASHLESS BOOSTS CASH
A recent study commissioned by USA Technologies reports that cashless technology increases cash spending in vending machines. In the study carried out by Michigan State University, it was found that cashless technology improved sales growth for machines producing under US$2,000 in annual sales, than for higher performing machines. Activity was measured in 250,000 machines following cashless deployment over an 18-month period, and the results showed that card transactions increased by 74 per cent and cash transactions rose by 13.
