VENDEX REVIEW
The company showcased its new extended range of variable head
filters, while visitors showed particular interest in H2O Direct’s VH- IEN-6000 which has a variable bypass to ensure the right filtration for the particular ph level of the water where used. The iDScale, a biodegradable descaling fluid to clean hot tanks
and coffee machines on site with no need for machinery removal, also proved popular and resulted in three new customers placing orders on the day. Tower Leasing’s Kevin Reed said: “The Vendex show in Leeds was
a first-class experience for Tower. We haven’t networked with so many customers at a vending show ever. “A real winner was the location and the ease of its ground floor
access. It was busy from the get-go and we didn’t stop till the final whistle, where we also secured a new customer just as the show was closing. “With so many operators in attendance, it allowed us to create a
real platform to promote all the great work we have done in digitising our operation, speeding up our systems and improving on our award-winning service.” Meanwhile the VMC stand was busy all day and a contactless payment pinball machine provided much entertainment, whilst also demonstrating how easily the Vendotek reader can be fitted to other automatic/unattended retail machines. Staff manning the stand said it was clear that any previous
resistance to cashless payment in vending is no longer there, with everyone either already installing it or hoping to trial it soon. Laura Barwell, business development manager at VMC said: “The
Vendotek solution really stood out amongst the competition thanks to the direct merchant agreement with competitive rates and fast settlement of funds – two key benefits that we know are important to operators. “We’ve had great feedback so far, especially around the fact the
unit is plug and play, instantly connecting via a 3G SIM, making it very quick to get the service up and running for customers. We’ve also recently introduced a finance offer that removes the barrier of upfront investment and makes these units more accessible to the smaller operators too.” Simon Black from SB Software described this year’s show “the best
Vendex ever”. “It’s hard to say whether the change of location played any role in
that, although the venue was certainly easy to access, airy and spacious and kitted out with everything needed. “What did make this Vendex especially useful was the number and
quality of attendees and exhibitors; the frame of mind they brought with them – ready and willing to talk business direct, in a no- nonsense way. “As a result, things progressed further and faster than we could
have expected across the board. Visitors to our stand came forearmed with specific business challenges, keen to discuss solutions; manufacturers were excited about the new frontiers being opened up by technology - especially Vendmanager in OCS and HoReCa; and providers of vital ancillary services were exploring opportunities to share data and access wherever customers will benefit.
