O
n Thursday 7th September, 42 cars will meet at Dover Castle to start the Pavestone Rally 2017. Over 4
days they will be driving through 10 European countries undertaking a series of challenges along the way to raise money for the Rainy Day Trust and Teenage Cancer Trust. Participants come from across the home improvement sector with entries from garden centres, DIY outlets and builders merchants. Each team has bought a car for less than
£500, and has decorated it to whatever theme they like; ideally to match the fancy dress themes that they are going to have to match during the Rally. There’ll be a Volvo painted
like a fire engine, another painted to look like the Red Arrows! Each day the teams have to complete a series of tasks like collecting post cards with a goat on them, or having a photograph taken pf the whole team in a bath. The trickiest part will be making sure that
these old bangers manage to claw their way over the Alps on their way down to Austria. Last year, some cars had to turn round and drive back through the tunnel instead. Finally when they reach the finish line at
Monte Carlo, there will be a beauty parade in front of the Casino – the cars won’t linger too long though as the Porsches and Rollers get grumpy at being in the company of such illustrious vehicles!
An exhilarating 4 day journey through 10 countries 7th-10th September 2017
A total of 40 teams have bought road-legal cars for under £500 and are preparing to hit Europe’s greatest roads and cities for 4 days to Monte Carlo.
Donned in fancy dress, they’ll be completing challenges along the way, all in aid of charity. Every pound raised will help two well deserving charities, Teenage Cancer Trust and The Rainy Day Trust.
