Charles Stearn His Lamp Factory Kew, London - 1874
One hundred and forty seven years have gone by since Stearn met Swan and made his contribution to the development of the lamp. The lighting industry has undergone substantial changes since those early days, not least with the emergence of the LED, and has now become one of the largest and most important sectors of the electrical trade.
Charles Stearn was proud to describe himself “electrician” when he registered his lamp company in 1907, and he would certainly be proud to see the company that bears his name today not only still distributing lamps and luminaires, but also performing such a valuable role in bridging the gap between manufacturer and wholesaler with other specialist lines.
