National Ventilation’s design service makes
ventilation a breeze National Ventilation designed and supplied a whole house ventilation system for a prestigious new two-storey home in Taunton, Somerset.
A
ventilation project at a new build in Taunton was well underway when National Ventilation’s
free design expertise was called upon. National Ventilation worked with the owner and
designer to create a system that offered the correct levels of ventilation and would work within the existing structure. A mechanical ventilation with heat recovery (MVHR) unit was required to improve indoor air quality and reduce space heating costs. The Monsoon HRU/330-100 MVHR was selected to meet these requirements, while Monsoon radial ducting was also specified as it offers on-site flexibility for any deviations from the original design. “The project was already well underway when we contacted National Ventilation. However, this was not a problem as they came up with a ventilation solution to meet the project’s needs,” said Chris Towns the designer developer. “By visiting the site prior to ordering the equipment, they were able to troubleshoot any issues and it was reassuring when they visited after the

Rigfone specified Unitrunk’s EasyConnect after using the company’s RIS systems on a Ministry of Defence project. The contractor was so impressed by the speed and ease of installation provided by Unitrunk EasyConnect cable basket that the system was used for all submains, power, lighting control and lighting containment requirements on multi-decks 6 and 7. install to check the systems. We felt assured that not only would the system provide the necessary ventilation but it would also meet Building Regulations.” National Ventilation’s free design service includes unit calculations, a full kit list as well as recommended duct routes. Using project drawings, National Ventilation uses its specialist knowledge coupled with software programmes to specify the correctly sized ventilation units and the correct type and lengths of ducting – whilst ensuring a ventilation system meets Building Regulations. The Monsoon HRU whole house heat recovery systems
provide superior air comfort levels whilst minimising heat wastage making it ideal for the Somerset home. The new Monsoon HRU/330-100 MVHR unit is ultra-silent, running continuously at low speed, and only boosting to high speed when required. In addition, there is the option to include an
in-duct humidistat. For more information call 01823 690 290 or visit:

heights for levels 1-4, creating significant working at height challenges. Rigfone Electrics’ John Hubbard said: “With a
project involving such high ceilings, simplicity of design and installation are critical. For this project, that had to be combined with a robust and hardwearing installation, capable of meeting the client’s stipulation of a 10-year minimum service life. “Unitrunk’s specification support, onsite training and simple to use EasyConnect cable basket not only helped us to meet project requirements within the designated programme but also enabled us to save a couple of minutes and a couple of pence on every 3m length of tray –
considerable savings on a project totalling 20km.” The EasyConnect basket was specified in hot dip galvanised steel with stainless steel fixings. Due to the high ceilings, the cable management system was suspended from the concrete slab by metal rods at 1.5m intervals, fixed in place with resin – guaranteed for a minimum of 10 years. Mr Hubbard adds: “Not only was the
EasyConnect system fast and simple to install but the use of basket throughout the multi-decks ensures ease of access to cabling for maintenance, delivering a facility that offers true operational efficiency.”
