The wait is over!
It’ll be my first time attending, and so will also more than likely be the first time I meet some of you, but I’m looking forward to putting names to faces. Preparations have long since been underway here, and I’m more than confident that they will culminate in another eclectic and memorable evening. I’d like to wish all of our nominees the very best of luck – that the race was so close is truly a testament to the innovation and ingenuity of our sector. It’ll be an evening for networking – meeting

new faces and catching up with familiar ones, and I think it provides a poignant time to highlight how important our social infrastructure is. And, more importantly, the importance of looking out for one another. As recently highlighted by the Electrical Industries Charity, a simple “Are you OK?” or “Would you like to talk?” can go a long way in making the difference to someone on a difficult day. It’s the sort of support we all need from time to time – at work as well as at home. As a result, the EIC has introduced Mental Health training courses; a free two-hour session covering Mental Health Awareness. For a more
