Electrical Wholesaler Award winners – we salute you! W

hat a great turnout for the EW Awards 2018! It was so good to welcome our

finalists, winners, sponsors and guests to London’s Tower Hotel on May 10th. The iconic Tower Bridge provided a fabulous backdrop to the proceedings on what turned out to be a balmy Spring evening. As always, we are indebted to our sponsors,

Lyvia Electrical Ltd, Scolmore Group, Knightsbridge and Selectric, whose valuable support is key to making the awards happen. Incredibly (where does the time go?) the

awards are now in their fifth year and are a real force for good in the industry. And, because your customers are involved in the voting process, their votes are a fantastic endorsement for our finalists and winners. This year, as always, competition was

stiff. And in some cases, there was just a whisper between being a winner and highly commended. Looking at this year’s wholesaler entries, it was clear that from the sole branches to the chains, your professionalism shines out like a beacon. We know, however, that for every entry we

received, there are hundreds of you that hold the same high values of customer service. So make sure that you enter next year!

It was pleasing to see some new names among this year’s winners and there were others, for example, Amble Electrical, who enjoyed a third consecutive year of success in the awards. Winning an award, being highly

commended, or becoming a finalist is a real achievement that reflects well on you as a business. An award is a great selling tool which enables you to flag up to your customers that you have the right credentials as an award-winning business. An award is also a real morale booster for your team. I hope that more wholesalers than ever –

and, of course, manufacturers – get on board for next year’s awards. We have made it very easy to enter, with our online entry forms. So we salute all of our finalists and winners

and say thank you for shining a light on excellence within our industry. See report and pictures, starting on page 29.

Enjoy this month’s issue.
