LED Downlightthat is cut-out for the future

LED’s climb to the top of the lighting category has been marked with a series of clever innovations. Lighting producers have continually re-invented the light source to gain consumer acceptance. Now, UK manufacturer Integral LEDis set to turn the design focus on the trade, continuing its self-proclaimed mission to ‘re-invent lighting for an LED age’.

ntegral LED’s new Multi-Fit downlight is the first of a range of lights that targets ease of installation as its key feature

as the company rolls out a new generation of ‘one-size-fits-all’ downlights with the installer in mind.

Since the start of the LED era – consumers have been the focus of design and product development. Recently LED lamps have shed their unsightly heatsinks and now resemble lamps of old. New generations have tackled the quality of light with high CRI and ‘dim-to-warm’ features that match the characteristics of incandescent ‘legacy’ light-sources. In many ways, LED lamps and luminaires match the characteristics of traditional lighting, in keeping with consumer preference. Integral’s approach is to the use the advantages of LED to deliver a product that pleases the installer. Additionally, it raises the prospect of the universal light fitting that

could reduce the number of lighting SKUs and product ranges that wholesalers stock in the future.
