Tower Bridge provides fantastic backdrop to EW Awards 2018

Electrical industry turns out in force to celebrate wholesaler and manufacturer excellence

Wholesalers, manufacturers and their guests gathered at the prestigious Tower Hotel London on May 10th, to celebrate the best of the best in this year’s EW Awards.

T

he Electrical Wholesaler Awards, organised by Electrical Wholesaler Magazine in association with

Datateam Business Media Ltd, are now in their fiſth year and this year, there were a host of new names amongst the award winners. Some, however, were successful in a number

of categories. Ansell Lighting, for example, won the Best Marketing Campaign Category and Best Overall Supplier. Ansell was also Highly Commended in the Best Supplier Customer Service and Best New Product categories. Amble Electrical’s successful run in the EW

Awards continued this year. They picked up the Best Wholesaler Website accolade, following back-to-back victories in 2016 and 2017 in the Best Individual Branch category. This year, Amble was also Highly Commended in the Best Wholesaler, Sole Branch category. The evening began with a Champagne

reception followed by some great comedy from Sean Collins, who proved to be a popular compere and host, keeping guests entertained throughout the evening, ahead of his appearance on Live at the Apollo.

This year’s awards attracted a high level of high calibre entries. Voted for by industry peers, in addition to judging by a panel of industry experts, this year’s judges were: Richard Pagett (Aria PR), John Sheppard (eTrader websites), Eddie Embleton (Voltimum) and Debbie Eales (Electrical Wholesaler).

EW Awards organiser, Mike Gammon, said:

“The Electrical Wholesaler Awards have been designed to provide the perfect opportunity for wholesalers and suppliers alike to celebrate those within their industry who go that extra mile and stand out in their sector. “Our sincerest gratitude, of course, goes to all of our sponsors for their ongoing support and belief in what we are doing to celebrate this fine industry. Without this generous backing, none of what you see at this event is possible, and we at Electrical Wholesaler do not take this for granted for one moment.” This year’s sponsors were: Knightsbridge,

Lyvia Electrical Ltd, Scolmore Group and Selectric. The event was also supported by Electrical Times, the Electrical Industries Charity and Voltimum. Adds Mike Gammon: “We would also like to thank everyone who took part in the process of selecting tonight’s shortlist, highly commended and winners.” A raffle during the evening raised £850 for the Electrical Industries Charity.
