Interview

How is the drive for sustainability affecting electrical design? The drive for sustainability is significantly impacting electrical design by promoting the use of energy-efficient components, renewable energy sources, and eco-friendly materials. Designers are increasingly incorporating technologies like LED lighting, energy-efficient power supplies, and smart grids to reduce energy consumption. Additionally, there is a focus on minimising electronic waste through designs that support easier recycling, longer product lifespans, and reduced use of hazardous materials. Two core areas of focus for us at ProofVision for future products is to minimise energy consumption and make products easy to repair and recycle. This is nicely demonstrated in our new semi-shade Lifestyle Plus NX outdoor televisions, as the product is considerably easier to repair and dismantle in comparison to the original Lifestyle model. We prioritise using eco-friendly and recyclable materials, managing waste responsibly, and minimising the environmental impact of our operations. Socially, we focus on fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace and ensuring fair labour practices are being carried out by our supply chain. Our governance commitments involve maintaining transparency, ethical business practices and robust oversight to ensure compliance and accountability.
