you’d be hard pressed to find a more fertile market at the moment than the Asia Pacific, which has been the case for some time and looks set to continue, albeit with some close-run, and advancing, regions nipping at its heels.

4. How are you ensuring sustainability in your business model? What environmental steps are you taking?

Good question. Sustainability is very much a core tenant of our business. How could it not be? As far as environmental steps, we

ensure that all of our products are not only designed and built to the highest possible standards, therefore vastly extending their service life, we ensure that when the time comes to repair or upgrade components, the end-of-life technology is disposed of in an environmentally conscious way. The relevant certifications are in place for this process, which is what we follow.

5. You offer support services or after care to your customers? Do you have technical expertise in-house and why is that important to you?

Aftercare is the cornerstone of any successful business and ours is one in which we take enormous pride, both in- house and through our local and regional offices and partners. When we say we

take a full-service consultative approach to all our customer needs, we mean it. We give our customers ready access to our highly skilled in-house team of design and development engineers to help them overcome any technical challenges that arise before, during, or after product conceptualisation, design, manufacture or installation. Long term support is important to ensure a long-term partnership.

6. What do you think will be the next big trend in display technology/ electronics industry in general?

Flexible display technology, coupled with OLED and Organic Liquid Crystal Display (OLCD) enables designers to integrate displays into products with different shapes and sizes without compromising design aesthetics. Displays can be curved and bent around surfaces that could be applied to work or home in a cornucopia of flexible forms. Rollable or foldable displays technology adds freedom to everything from car design to smart home applications.

All of that suggests that displays have the potential to become even thinner than ever, which again opens up vast new areas of potential application. However, one area that we believe has been overlooked is haptics for communicating the sense of “feeling” for what is being experienced on a display in a virtual environment.

Many question whether the sensation of touch is really necessary to drive consumer products to the brink of a truly immersive interactive experience, but we believe that providing the option for a sense of touch could deliver more inclusivity for those whose other senses may be missing or less developed.

Haptic-enabled devices have been in use in medicine for many years, and more recently, e-sports and gaming. In an increasingly interactive world, the emergence of haptic-tactile display devices not only enable consumers to watch and hear content, it conveys a sense of feeling or movement and we think that could come to be just as important as the visual acuity or portability of many consumer devices.

7. What advice would you give to young people starting out in the industry?

There is no question of the growing demand for creative talent in the digital, engineering, and technical industries. It is therefore absolutely crucial to follow, as much as possible, an interdisciplinary course of further education, be it at university or through internships. After graduation, do everything and

more asked of you, and ask a lot of questions. Understand your company, your markets, trends, drivers, and where the next discontinuity or disruption will come from. Above all else: remain curious.
