    Back in the 1960’s when we first launched as Goodacre and Davenport, we set out to position ourselves as the custom power specialist, providing high-quality components, fair pricing and expert technical support. women in engineering and watching them lead the way.


At GD Rectifiers, we partner with BSE|3D, Burgess Hill Business Park Association (BHBPA) and Mid Sussex Science Week to take part in the STEM event for local primary schools aimed at inspiring the next generation by volunteering our time as a panel judge. Mid Sussex Week ignites curiosity, inspires innovation and celebrates the incredible world of science, technology, engineering and maths, and GD Rectifiers is thrilled to be a part of it again for 2025.

In 2020 when Covid had hit the globe, we were proud to acquire Harmsworth Townley & Co which provided us with an even broader range of semiconductor components and enhanced our stock coverage during a volatile and unknown time. It was a good business decision for us at GD Rectifiers, but it was also a personal one too.


We are constantly striving to improve customer experiences with us, providing faster response times on enquiries, ensuring customers have access to the latest technology and that product data is readily available.


  Celebrating our 60th anniversary is a big milestone for us. In a tough, crowded industry where major players have large teams and huge budgets, it signifies our determination, resilience and the close relationships we have built over the past 60 years with our customers

For me, the biggest reward has been collaborating with our experienced team of engineers, OEM partners and customers. I’m proud to have met so many highly skilled engineers and professionals throughout my career. I enjoy solving design challenges and seeing a project go from initial design idea to completion. Helping customers offers great satisfaction and encourages us as a company to do more and achieve more together.

Working with education institutions and placing an emphasis on apprenticeship programmes for young people is key. The industry is working hard to shine a light on women in engineering roles to embrace and encourage future generations to follow suit. It’s a great time for engineering and exciting to share and draw on the experiences of the current generation of





 As a company, we’re focusing on our corporate sustainability and aim to offer a greener production process in the coming years. We plan on improving and expanding our product offering within the renewable industry, homing in on parts designed for electric vehicles (EV), EV chargers, wind and solar products. Continued company growth will be a key focus for us alongside navigating the next six months of what could be a quieter period as outlets look to rebalance their supply order books.


The industry is predicting another EV resurgence in mid 2025 which is set to hike up the demand and potentially prices of power electronic components, particularly semiconductors, so we are currently reviewing our stock coverage and forward ordering to avoid potential price increases – and are urging customers to do the same. GD Rectifiers will continue to bridge the gap for those SMEs that require more than what the large, self-service distributors in the industry offer, including dedicated technical support from the same sales representative from quote to delivery and instant access to our experienced teams. GD Rectifiers will continue to deliver high-quality products and offer an exemplary and unrivalled service to customers, through suggesting replacement parts and new products based on projects, the component’s lifecycle, qualifications and availability.


Fundamental to our on-going success and what sets us apart from competitors is our ability to provide a bespoke 360 service to our customers to help futureproof their component supply, a key element admired by our customer base which we hope to deliver and build upon for many years to come.
