Cliff add a locking power connector to CLIFFON range
C
liff Electronics, have added a locking connector to their CLIFFCON power connector range. The CLIIFCON-P range is comprised of a power input plug and socket, a power output plug and socket and an inline cable extension coupler. The ergonomically shaped locking power input and output plugs are colour coded, blue for power in and grey for power out, and feature different keyways to prevent accidental insertion of the incorrect plug. The chassis mounting sockets are designed to fit into industry standard 26mm XLR cut outs, matching the very wide range of standard and FeedThrough connectors already available from Cliff.
The CLIFFCON-P input/output coupler may be used to extend cable lengths and features dust caps on both sockets to prevent the ingress of dust or contamination when not in use. The CLIFFCON-P range is rated at 20A rms at 250VAC and may be used in applications including broadcast, auditorium installations, lighting, LED display, signage and videowall systems and industrial equipment. John Hall, managing director of Cliff
Electronics, commented: “Our CLIFFCON power connector range is very well established provides a variety of different high quality, robust and reliable options. The new CLIFFCON-P provides installers of fixed and temporary installations a simple to use, safe and reliable locking power connector with the option of extending cable runs for use at different locations. The CLIFFCON-P XLR sized sockets match
our very wide range of other connector types simplifying panel design” Cliff’s XLR format connectors take advantage of the standard 24mm panel cut out widely used in audio and broadcast systems and which is finding increasing popularity instrumentation, medical and industrial applications due to the format’s flexibility, security and reliability. Blank socket plates are also now available for customers to create custom connector solutions. The Cliff FT series of true, feed through, data connectors for electrical and electronic instrumentation are perfect for developing custom I/O configurations for wall plates, enclosures, rack panels, etc. All fit within a standard XLR panel cut-out and use common standard cabling for front and back connections with no soldering or screw terminal connections required. FT connectors may be mounted from the front or back of a panel and a low rear profile accommodates the tightest behind- the-panel spaces. Pre-assembled 19” rack panels fitted with a range of FT and standard connectors are available from Cliff to simplify end system assembly. Versions available include GJ45, HDMI, BNC and USB3.0 compliant single and dual USB versions in addition to the existing range which provides Analogue, Digital and Optical Feed-Through connectivity in formats including Firewire, HDMI A-A and metal or plastic 50 ohm BNC versions, USB2 A-to-B and B-to-A “gender change” sockets high speed USB Type – C, USB3 to USB3 in all gender changing configurations - A-A, A-B and B-A. Also available are all
popular data and Ethernet connectors including USB 2.0 and 3.0, LC and SC fibre (Duplex & Simplex), UTP and FTP RJ45s in both Cat6 and Cat5e (shielded and unshielded), CAT3 RJ11 and RJ14 6P4C,
Toslink, RCA Phono and HDMI and blanking plates. Dust covers are now available for many of the connector range.

Rectangular Rack and Panel connectors comply with MIL-DTL-28748 L
ane Electronics has made available Positronic’s high- density and standard density
rectangular rack and panel connectors. With many versions compliant to MIL-DTL-28748 and SAE AS39029, these are rugged, high performance connectors designed to meet a wide range of demanding applications. Lane can supply the high- density connectors with 4 to 104 contacts including Positronic’s Posiband size 22 closed entry contacts. They are also available with many contact variants including solder PCB mount, crimp, solder cup and press-in terminations. The option of thermocouple contacts is also offered by Lane Electronics.
8 February 2019 The standard density connectors
are available with 9 to 104 contacts with 13 contact variants in sizes 16 and 20. Lane can supply them in straight and right- angle solder and cable terminations. Contact current rating can be up to 13A. For both the high-density and
standard density connectors, Lane can also supply a wide variety of accessories including keying options and tooling. Lane is an ideal source for all key connector types including circular, filtered, RF, coaxial, sub – miniature, backshells and adaptors, D connectors, aerospace, test & measurement, IDC, PCB connectors, edge connectors and connectors for rack and panel applications.
