Advertorials New range of ultra violet LEDs


AP Technologies is pleased to announce a new range of ultra violet LEDs from Opto Diode Corporation (Camarillo, CA, USA).


The first devices released are UVC LEDs emitting at 265nm and 280nm.


The new OD-265-001 and OD-280-001 LEDs feature industry-leading chip technology enabling high optical powers of 0.68mW (265nm) and 1.2mW (280nm) with a drive current of 20mA.


OD-265-001 and OD-280-001 are packaged in industry-standard TO-18 format with a quartz window cap the LEDs emit a medium beam angle of 70° FWHM.


The LEDs offer industry-leading reliability with an "L70" (degradation to 70% of initial output) of greater than 1000 hours when operated at 20mA DC in an ambient of 23°C. They also incorporate a protection diode to eliminate the risk of damage due to reverse bias.

Company Fischer Elektronik GmbH & Co. KG extends their wide programme of cooling aggregates by further high performance cooling aggregates of series LA HPK. High performance cooling aggregates are used for heat dissipation of greater power losses and the need for bigger semiconductors mounting surfaces. Double-sided opposing thick base plates ensure a good heat splay and simultaneously serve as a mounting surface for the electronic components to be cooled. The overall concept consists of single cooling fins which are pressed together to each fin end by a special pressfit geometry and are therefore thermotechnically optimal assembled. The inner fin tunnel is built by closely linked grooved cooling fins. Compared to straight fins the waived fin structure additionally realizes an efficiency improvement in


terms of heat dissipation. With help of this surface structure a more turbulent flow is realized in the air channel to reach a better heat transfer from the fins to the air. The manufacturing process as well as the different fin heights allow a flexible design of the aluminium basic body. As a standard the dimensions 306 x 70 mm are offered for five axial fans, 330 x 90 mm for four axial fans, 282 x 110 mm for three axial fans and 240 x 129 mm for two axial fans. Each profile length of the high performance cooling aggregates is appropriately customised for the customer or specially produced according to the customer specific requirements. Furthermore the mentioned basic profiles are optionally orderable with or without airflow chamber for flow optimization. The underlying modular concept assures a mechanical and thermally perfect solution depending on the application. Additionally mechanical treatments, special designs or surface treatments are realized according to the customer’s specifications.
