The Altitude Technology portfolio of solutions, available from Mouser Electronics, consists of three main IoT Bit Hardware Attached on Top (HAT) modules that support the Raspberry Pi single-board computer. Each module is plug-and-play, supports any Micro SIM card with a single terminal command setup, and provides high-efficiency power regulation up to 3A.
The IoT Bit GSM HAT is an 85-Kbits per second (kbps) intelligent HAT module that provides GSM mobile data logging for the Raspberry Pi, as well as GPS positioning information, Bluetooth connectivity, and battery support. The IoT Bit 3G HAT is a 4.5-Mbits per second (Mbps) intelligent HAT module that provides fast internet connectivity for web browsing and small data transfers. The IoT Bit 4G HAT delivers ultra-fast 4G internet connectivity (100 mbps down/50 mbps up) and is excellent for large downloads and video streaming. Red Pitaya adds Vector Network Analyser capabilities to low cost credit-card-sized, reconfigurable STEMlab instrument
Multi-function, open-source, reconfigurable test & measurement platform can now measure electrical performance of RF components
Red Pitaya, the company that is pioneering the move to low cost, open-source, reconfigurable instrumentation with its credit-card-sized STEMlab™ platform, today launched a VNA new bridge module and application that enables STEMLab to function an affordable vector network analyser (VNA), a precision measuring tool that tests the electrical performance of high frequency components in the radio frequency.
STEMlab is a test and measurement environment that includes a board, an application marketplace and a source code library. It is designed as a low-cost alternative to many expensive measurement and control instruments. STEMlab can function as an Oscilloscope, Logic Analyser, Signal Generator, Spectrum Analyser and more, also performing other tasks, now including vector network analysis.
To run the VNA application users need a STEMlab plus an additional VNA bridge module – both available from Red Pitaya’s web store. VNA is a contributed application that runs on Windows and Linux. It covers a frequency range of 500kHz to 62MHz, has a directivity of 42dB (typ), a dynamic range of 74dB and a noise floor of 88dBm. Software features include: plot formats (Smith chart, impedance, SWR, reference coefficient, return loss); open, short & load calibration modes; measurement export and marker readouts. Included in the VNA module box are an RF SWR bridge module in an aluminium enclosure, calibration accessories (50 ohm, open & short load) and cables.

Nexperia, the former Standard Products division of NXP, today announced a new range of AHC (Advanced High speed CMOS) dividers with oscillators that save space, increase efficiency and reduce overall system cost. This new 74AHC1G42xx dividers range also offers - for the first time - overvoltage-tolerant inputs for mixed voltage mode operation, increasing reliability and flexibility in designs.
Standard general-purpose logic dividers/counters (74HC4020, 74HC4040 and 74HC4060) have multiple outputs which remain unused in many applications, resulting in most divider solutions being
oversized. Nexperia’s 74AHC1G42xx dedicated single output Mini Logic dividers offer specific 2xx frequency division (xx = 01 to 16) in a TSSOP5 package measuring just 4.4mm², substantially smaller than SO16-packaged devices.
Signal integrity performance for Nexperia’s 74AHC1G42xx range of single output dividers in Mini Logic package is equivalent to other solutions. The new LTKAK Series TVS Diodes from Littelfuse is now available in Europe through TTI, Inc., a world leading specialist distributor of electronic components. Offering superior clamping characteristics compared to standard silicon avalanche diodes, the LTKAK Series features Littelfuse Foldbak technology, which provides a clamping voltage lower than avalanche voltage but above rated working voltage. Provided in the SMTO-218 package, LTKAK TVS diodes are compact and enable designers to save board space, as well as being easier to manufacture than current AK TVS families. Suitable applications for the Littelfuse LTKAK Series includes cell phone base stations, industrial transient voltage surge suppressors (TVSS), railway trackside signalling and control cabinets, power grid & power distribution systems and defence & avionics applications.
There are two families of devices in the new LTKAK Series TVS diodes, the LTKAK6 and LTKAK10, both offering superior clamping characteristics over standard SAD technologies thanks to Littelfuse Foldbak technology. This provides a clamping voltage lower than the avalanche voltage (but above the rated working voltage), and therefore, any voltage rise due to increased current conduction is kept to a minimum, providing the best possible protection level. Surge protection is also excellent at 6kA surge capability for the LTKAK6 and 10kA surge capability for the LTKAK10 (8x20µs waveform). A high power TVS design in a compact and innovative SMT package, the LTKAK6 and LTKAK10 can also be connected in series and/or parallel to create various capability and flexible protection solutions.
