directly, although I do sell on Instagram and on Facebook. I think it would be an absolute nightmare for small businesses like mine, as people order more than they need to try selections of shoes at home. I could not have that amount of stock to go out of the shop and not know what’s coming back. I find it a lot easier to manage it with Instagram, Facebook and face- to-face.
Q: What’s selling well right now? What are your best-selling footwear brands – and why? A: My best-selling ladies’ brands are Art, Fly London, Alicia, Dune and Geox; then for children’s it’s Lelli Kelly, Boss, DKNY, Marc Jacob, Sophie Webster, Mini Melissa, Igor, Carl Lagerfeld, Diesel, and Mayoral.
Q: Does your shop sell other items besides footwear, such as bags, gloves etc? A: Following our January store refit we will be stocking all types of accessories and footwear for ladies, including bags, gloves, tights, as well as hats, fascinators, scarves and sunglasses, etc.
Q: How do you select your products – which criteria do you use/what are your customers looking for? A: I tend to choose footwear that I like, including Art, Fly London, Alicia Dune and Geox, and many more, as in previous businesses and it’s worked well and seems to be working now.
