FOOTWEAR TODAY LIVE WAS BIGGER THAN EVER!
Footwear Today Live returned to Birmingham this September with 136 brands on display welcoming visitors for another successful buying event.
F
ootwear Today Live returned to the National Conference Centre (NCC) in Birmingham in September. The two-day show welcomed over 340 footwear retailers from all across the UK for yet another successful buying event for the upcoming SS24 season.
There were 136 brands on display with all their latest trends, materials and designs. This indicates the impressive growth of Footwear Today Live, as the event occupied nearly the whole of the NCC, taking over nine rooms across two levels – whereas this time last year (for the show’s first edition) it was just one room! Many visitors in fact stayed for both days of the show so they could get round all the stands!
Run by the team behind Footwear Today magazine, the show is the perfect opportunity for independent and multiple footwear retailers to meet with their favourite brands, see new ranges for upcoming seasons, and hopefully make new contacts for the future. It’s the perfect place for both networking and buying – in a manageable and friendly environment.
The event also included complimentary lunch and refreshments, plus the NCC once again offered free parking and easy transportation links by road and rail, located less than a five minute drive from the Birmingham International NEC train station. We also provided a free visitor shuttle service between the NCC and NEC train station. Charlotte Steadman, Event Manager for Footwear Today Live, said: “I am so pleased that the show was another huge success! We had many more visitors than our previous editions, thanks in part to the increased size of the show with more
brands in attendance than before. “We’ve already had some fantastic feedback on this September edition, so I’m excited to now start making plans for when the show returns in February! And I’m pleased to report that quite a few brands have already signed up to exhibit again, so I hope to see you all back at the show next year!” Callum Dowle, Brand Manager at Golden Concept (the UK wholesaler for Joya), commented: “Footwear Today Live’s convenient location and amenities proved to be an excellent platform for us to connect with our industry partners. “With such a diverse range of brands and an impressive number of industry professionals and customers in attendance, the show unquestionably proved itself as the best footwear show of the season! The event provided us with a unique opportunity to engage with a vast and diverse audience.
“The added touch of hospitality was a testament to Footwear Today’s commitment to providing a relaxed and enjoyable experience for attendees. We are looking forward to being back in February for the next show!”
Rob Sewell, UK Agent for the Art and El Naturalista brands, added: “The Footwear Today
Live show is a very popular show with brands and retailers. The retailers really like the location, which provides free parking within 50 metres of the front door. The addition of a free lunch, tea and coffee really helped the retailers relax and allowed them to focus on the buying – with so many brands present at the show this year.”
John Feeney, UK and Ireland Sales Agent for the Högl, Hassia and Ganter brands, was completely new to the show this year. He said: “Being new to the industry, the Footwear Today Live event was an invaluable opportunity for us to network with people and get a better understanding of the market. Some of our customers took the opportunity to visit us for the first time, but we also had the chance to introduce our brands to potential new customers.
“We have already booked for next season and look forward to introducing customers old and new to the AW24 collection!”
