AWARDS NEWS
H
aving received a flood of entries from retailers, brands and professionals from across the trade, it is now time for individuals operating within the
footwear sector to help decide who deserves to win an accolade from the glittering Footwear Industry Awards ceremony, taking place at the National Conference Centre in Birminghamon Sunday 23 February 2020.
Your online votes will, once again, be the only deciding factor in curating a
shortlist of finalists and deciding the winners and highly commended in all of the Retailer and Industry categories.
While for the Brand awards, a two-stage decision-making process will be
the determining factor: first, online votes will produce a shortlist of finalists, before a panel of specially-selected experts will pick those deemed to be worthy of walking away from the event as a champion.
With voting set to open on Monday 11 November at 10am, make sure you
are prepared to support the brands, retailers and professionals that you feel deserve to lift a prestigious trophy by heading to the dedicated Awards website:

A chance to give back As well as being a platform to reward excellence, the Footwear Industry Awards is the perfect occasion for professionals from across the field to give a little back.
Every year, guests at the ceremony have the chance to help raise money
for three specially selected causes during a charity fundraiser. As the winner of the 2018 Personality of the Year accolade, Marcus Baker of Legero had the opportunity to nominate one of the charities that would receive a portion of the money raised. He nominated Time is Precious, an amazing volunteer organisation that provides some much needed humanity, relief and normality to children and their families suffering with cancer, providing space and equipment to enable families to stay together.
This fantastic tradition will continue at the 2020 event, as Rosie Laker of
DB Shoes – the winner of the Personality of the Year in 2019 – has selected her charity to be Alzheimer’s Society.
As the UK’s only organisation that campaigns for change, funds research to
find a cure and supports people living with the condition today, Alzheimer’s Society is spearheading the fight against the UK’s biggest killer: Dementia.
Commenting on her decision to support this cause, Rosie says: “My mother has this condition and so does John Earnshaw’s mother
.
John works for us and is just one of the individuals I have come across in the trade who has relatives/friends with this condition. I had no idea of the impact that this illness has on the sufferer
, and their families, until we
experienced it ourselves. It robs people of so much, in such a cruel manner and there is very little help for those in need.

Will you be joining us? The glittering awards ceremony will take place at the National Conference Centre in Birminghamon Sunday 23 February 2020, where the leading retailers, brands and professionals will be crowned as champions in front of the industry’s elite set to be in attendance.
