Sarginsons Industries recently announced a major investment to upgrade its headquarters to meet its needs for future growth. The company is now pressing ahead with a new laboratory within its manufacturing facility, that will be used to deliver further enhanced measurement, chemical analysis and material testing of components. The new lab will extend the scope of work that Sarginsons can carry out for its clients which include major automotive companies as well as manufacturers in other fields.
A new report from Make UK shows manufacturers are stepping up to the sustainability challenge. Over 70 per cent of companies surveyed reported that the last environmental improvement they carried out reduced costs. Half of respondents said they were taking steps towards greater energy efficiency. Nearly a fifth are going much further with imaginative and cutting-edge energy efficiency projects. Businesses are starting to look past the immediate cost saving drivers towards sustainability for the long term.
Knapp recently won the award for Best IT Innovation at the 2019 Material Handling Industry (MHI) Innovation Awards, one of three prizes awarded annually by MHI, the USA’s largest material handling and logistics association. The accolade was awarded at a ceremony at the ProMat exhibition in Chicago.
