Bergader Privatkäserei, a well-established producer of cheese, based in Waging am See, Bavaria, Germany, combines technology with traditional craftsmanship in the manufacture of its cheese specialities. Its new production line for ‘Bergader Edelpilz’ blue cheese is thought to be the first food production plant to use hyperspectral imaging for the inspection of the heat-sealed packaging joints. This forms part of a three-stage inspection process and aims to provide certainty that every single cheese package meets the requirements for air-tightness
