savings for stainless steel fabricators. Designed as part of ESAB’s integrated system of components, and equally suitable for new systems and retrofits, the iSeries is the most advanced plasma power supply available today. With a maximum cut capability of 50 mm, the iSeries plasma power sources will benefit users in the food, drink, pharmaceutical, chemical, oil and gas, processing, shipbuilding, marine, offshore, nuclear and other industries utilizing stainless steel. Thanks to the Water Mist Secondary (WMS) process, which uses nitrogen as the plasma gas and tap water for shielding, the iSeries power sources cut up to three times faster and reduce the cost-per-cut by 20 per cent or more compared to systems using argon-hydrogen for the plasma gas. Most importantly, the higher productivity and lower cost-per-cut do not compromise cut quality.

holy grail of reducing maintenance costs while increasing equipment availability. The strategy relies on measuring the health of the equipment using a number of

techniques, including fitting sensors to provide continuous, real-time measurement of equipment for potential problems. Vibration monitoring is one of the most commonly used technologies and in its whitepaper, Gill examines how partnering oil condition sensors alongside vibration measurement can provide engineers with a comprehensive picture of machinery health. This approach provides an insight into the five primary root causes of machine failure; balance, alignment,

looseness, lubricant quality and contamination. Gill Sensors & Controls

New ABB laser level transmitter offers high accuracy for harsh environments

BB has expanded its level measurement portfolio with the addition of the LLT100 laser level transmitter. Specifically designed for industrial applications and harsh environments, the LLT100 enables precise measurement of any solid or liquid surface, including clear liquids from – 40° to +60°C (–40 to +140°F), or up to 280°C (535°F) with a cooling tube.

With its IP67/NEMA 4X explosion proof class 1 / division 1 (zone 1) enclosure, it can be used in a range of applications, including mining, aggregates, oil and gas, chemicals, food and beverages, power, pulp and paper, pharmaceuticals and water and waste water. Offering a resolution of 5 mm, an accuracy of ±20 mm and an eye-safe, Class 1 laser beam with a divergence of less than 0.35°, the LLT100 can be used in low visibility conditions.

calibration systems, and force, torque, load, and strain sensors has announced CALROUTE. This new firmware upgrade for the Portable Vibration Calibrator delivers semi-automatic generation of test points to simplify calibration routines. CALROUTE enables repetitive calibration routines to be

P

generated. . Test routines are set up on a laptop or desktop computer before being transferred to the Portable Vibration Calibrator via a USB memory stick, allowing multiple sensor models to be calibrated without having to reload data. On the Model 9110D Portable Vibration Calibrator, an indication of pass or fail status is clearly displayed on the calibrator’s screen during testing. Test results are recorded on a USB memory stick for later transfer to a computer where ISO 17025 compliant calibration certificates can be printed.
