galvanic and safe isolation of medical equipment from the mains supply. The latest generation of REOMED has been designed to comply to the 4th edition of the IEC/EN60601-1 medical use directive, the safety standard for medical electrical equipment and any additional equipment used in a medical environment.
Medical environments require increased air and creepage distances, and these are achieved by using a special toroidal isolation transformer like REO UK’s REOMED range. The IEC/EN60601-1 standard applies to the basic safety and performance of medical equipment or systems, in the presence of electromagnetic disturbances.
The standard requires equipment to be able to safely remove the connection between neutral and earth, which exists in a normal un-isolated system. The fourth edition REOMED series is certified for power ranges up to 2200 Volt-Ampere (VA).

EO UK has launched its latest edition of REOMED, a range of medical isolation transformers (MIT) for the
its EMS (Electronics Manufacturing Services) portfolio. RAFI's innovations include the TwinTouch touchscreen technology, which detects not only touch but also the intensity of pressure exerted on the panel. Combined touch and force detection prevents false inputs, increases operating security, and makes additional input levels feasible. Customized development of operating systems with capacitive touch displays is another RAFI highlight.
H
Showcases in this segment include the Smart Pad 2.0 panel for Kuka robot systems as well as a premium-quality control panel for Schaerer coffee machines. Complementing these, RAFI also presents embedded control units. These ECUs can be used in operating solutions for various control and visualization tasks. This range has most recently been expanded by the Linux-based POWER-ECU control unit, which supports high-quality 3D visualizations as well as multi-touch inputs and full HD screen resolutions for displays up to 24".
EMS provider RAFI ELTEC develops and manufactures electronic assemblies and systems according to customer- specific requirements, starting from the idea all the way to the finished product. RAFI's subsidiary specializes in robust embedded wireless and controller solutions for all common transmission standards such as Wi-Fi, GSM- GPRS/UMTS/LTE, ZigBee, 6LowPan, LLC, Bluetooth, and other wireless technologies. The customized implementation of embedded control units is also part of RAFI ELTEC's scope of services.

ARIES Embedded Will Present New System- on-Module with PolarFire FPGA
February 26 to 28, 2019 in Nuremburg, Germany. At stand 441 in hall 3A, the embedded specialist will also introduce the complementary evaluation platform M100PFEVP, which delivers a fast and easy project start for customers. "Our new M100PF board provides the full flexibility of the popular FPGAs for demanding applications in industrial and medical technology," stated Andreas Widder, Managing Director of ARIES Embedded. "PolarFire captivates with up to 50 percent lower power consumption than competing FPGAs, at mid-range densities with exceptional safety and reliability." With the SoM, ARIES Embedded extends the FPGA functionality with RAM, Flash, Clocking and additional features.
A M100PF Flexibly and Reliably Serves Industrial Applications
For industrial use, the system-on-module allows an expanded temperature range, from 0° to +70°C up to -40° to +85°C. On the ARIES SoM, the PolarFire FPGAs provide 100k, 192k, or 300k logic elements (LE) and feature 12.7G transceivers with up to 50 percent lower power consumption. The 256 Mbit configuration storage, the DDR3 RAM (512 Mbit, 1 or 2 Gbit), as well as 4 to 64 Gbit eMMC NAND Flash allow the development of complex high performance designs. Further features of the 72 by 40 mm small SoMs are: 8 SerDes with 250 Mbps to 12.5 Gbps, 2 PCI express Gen2 end points/root port slots, rich user I/O, and 2 Samtec QSH-090-01-F-D-A board-to-board connectors.

RIES Embedded, specialist for embedded services and products, will display the new M100PF System-on-Module (SoM) based on Microchip's PolarFire FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) family at Embedded World from
allowing designers to optimise the use of space in PCB and device design by enabling a broad range of PCB spacings from 8 to 20 mm.

The new stack heights add further to the flexibility provided by the har-flex® PCB connector family, which already offers a uniquely wide range of pole counts, fixings, design heights and reliable parameters for soldering. The new PCB spacings are achieved by the use of straight male connectors with a stack height of 4.85 mm and female connectors with a stack height of 13.65 mm.
ARTING has added two new stack heights to its compact har-flex® 1.27 mm pitch connector family,
