PRODUCTS CABLES & CONNECTORS WATERPROOF CONNECTORS EXCEED IP68

One of the custom design product ranges offered by Intelliconnect, the Pisces Range of connectors is designed for use in harsh environments where reliable signal transmission is critical. There are a variety of connector types in the

range including SAM, N, TNC and BNC, and customisation is also an option. A number of configurations are also available, such as straight, right-angle and bulkhead, and they can be supplied pre-wired to cable types and lengths for individual requirements. Designed to meet or exceed IP68 standards

for water or dust resistance, these can withstand exposure to extreme temperatures, shock and vibration, making themsuitable for use in applications such as defence, medical, industrial, and oil and gas exploration. All Pisces connectors are also sealed internally, making them waterproof when unmated. Key products in the Pisces range include:

• ABMS is a special subminiature connector interface originally designed for use with cochlear implants. This series is based on MCX but with enhanced ruggedisation enabling 3000 mating cycles.

• TNC has an extensive portfolio of plugs, jacks, adaptors and cable assemblies. Because of its size, ruggedness and relative low cost, it is a very popular style.

• N Type range is ultra rugged and also available in a wide range of plugs, jacks, adaptors and cable assemblies.

• SMA waterproof is a subminiature connector series which is one of the company’s most popular due to its small size and 18Ghz+ operating capacity.

EDGECONNECTOR SOLUTIONS

Extending the application possibilities, version 3.50 of Softing Industrial’s edgeConnector products is now compatible with ARM processors, expanding the application possibilities. The Docker-based software modules of the edgeConnector

family provide access to process data in SIMATIC S7, SINUMERIK 840D and Modbus TCP controllers. Version 3.50 of edgeConnector Siemens, edgeConnector

804D and edgeConnector Modbus is now compatible with the 64-bit version of ARM (Advanced RISC Machines) processors. This extends the application possibilities to devices like Raspberry Pi, Cisco IR1101, Orange Pi 5 or RevPi Connect. All edgeConnector products support state-of-the-art

security standards such as SSL/TLS, X.509 certificates, authentication, and data encryption. They can be easily configured locally via an integrated web interface or managed remotely via a REST API.

CONNECTORS FOR USE IN HARSH ENVIRONMENTS

Now available from binder is the 696-series Harsh-Environment Connector (HEC), designed for outdoor use in extreme weather, dust, humidity, contact with liquids, extreme temperatures, or vibrations. The compact connector has been engineered for versatile power supply in

both the low- and high-voltage segments under harsh conditions. In addition, the bayonet quick-locking mechanism, which can be closed or opened simply by pushing and turning, saves installation time. In hybrid design, power and simultaneous signal coupling is possible with one single mating. Applications are in plants in process industries, including chemical and

non-contact food technology; conveyor systems; andmachines in agriculture, construction, mining and surface mining. To withstand the mechanical, chemical and climatic impacts typical there, components of the 696 series – cable connectors and square panel mount parts – are also available with protective fittings. So, at the connector, the power interface meets the requirements of protection degree IP68, and IP69K when mated. All wires

placed in the protective fitting are protected according to IP67. The 5- to 12-pin connectors

are designed for rated voltages from60 to 600V and rated currents from3 to 32A, and they work in operating temperatures from -40 to +100˚C, are UV-, oil- and fuel-resistant, and are vibration-proof thanks to crimp connection. This non-detachable, solderless mechanical connection technology, ensures a particularly tight fit of the wire to the terminating part of the contact. Cable partsmeasure 36mmin diameter, panelmount parts 40mmx 40mm.

The 696-series components are both VDE-approved and UL-approved. binder

www.binder-connector.de SIMPLIFYING THE ASSEMBLY OF COMPLEX MODULAR CONNECTORS

Assembling complexmodular connectors involves integrating a wide variety of cables and leads, often requiring technical know-how and specialist tools. Depending on the complexity of the interface, cables may be required for power supply, signal and data lines, optical fibre cables, hoses for compressed air and fluids, and coaxial cables, together with their associated individual connectors. Stäubli’s CombiTac, however, is a modular

connector system with a comprehensive range of module types. Using the intuitive online configurator, customers can select and combine individual modules to create complex hybrid connectors which are fully configured to meet their application requirements. These installation-ready system solutions simplify integration and drive down costs. Stäubli Electrical Connectors also offers

high-performance,modular, OEM battery system based on the CombiTac system. This transmits current flow and data signals between individual batterymodules and onto the power electronics, with the OEM customer’s connection specifications implemented in the pre-assembled cables. The configuration of this solution makes it possible to work on the battery at zero voltage by simply unplugging the power unit from the battery. Stäubli’s safe connector solution within these
