Key features of the range include:
• Unified design helps machine builders standardise system and machine design: The three POWERAM actuator designs of Machine Screw, Stainless Steel and Ball Screw use the same common actuator housing, allowing system builders to alter the performance of the actuator and their system while maintaining the same dimensions for the actuator.
• High corrosion resistance with the stainless steel version: For linear motion in harsh environments, a complete stainless steel version is available as standard using the company’s proven marine and subsea technology. This is an important option as recent customer research has shown that there is a growing need for electric linear actuators that can operate reliably in harsh environments.
• Easy upgrade fromscrew jack to POWERAM: Both POWERAM and E-Series screw jacks use the same high quality, precise and reliable worm gearbox design for each nominal
capacity size, which provides designers with an easy upgrade path. The company has already successfully
delivered these types of actuators into a diverse range of industries including Metal Processing, Food & Beverage, Offshore Wind, Oil & Gas, Defence, Sports Venues, Water Treatment, Waterways and Nuclear Power. The success of these products then led to the development of a standard range that would further benefit machinery designers. The POWERAM linear actuator range is
available in Machine Screw, Stainless Steel and Ball Screw designs, each in five sizes with nominal capacity ratings of 10kN, 25kN, 50kN, 100kN and 200kN. All have a full range of end fittings, drives and feedback devices as part of their modular building systemsothe machine designer can select the best configuration for their application. In addition to the standard range,
customised and bespoke designs of the POWERAM linear actuator are also available.
Commenting on the range, Alex Crossland, managing director, said: “It represents the latest stage in the evolution of our linear motion product offering, based on our precision actuation technology and customer demand. Investing in these products for your machine design comes with the reassurance that this is a proven actuator type that we have successfully used in a wide range of industry sectors.”
