Western Filament’s lacing tapes are renowned for
their durability and compliance with stringent aerospace standards. Made from woven or fabric- based materials, Lacing Tape delivers a secure, consistent hold, even in high-vibration or extreme temperature conditions. Its lightweight, flexible nature
allows it to conform to complex routing paths, ensuring organised, efficient cable management. The product range includes the A-A-52081 flat braided polyester lacing tape, formerly MIL-T-43435B Type II, which operates effectively in temperatures ranging from -100˚F to 350˚F and is available in various finishes to suit different applications. Additionally, the A-A-52082 Teflon lacing tape, made from PTFE fluorocarbon yarns, offers exceptional chemical resistance and is suitable for high-temperature environments up to 450˚F. Aerco’s commitment to quality is underscored by its AS9120 and ISO9001 certifications. By supplying Western Filament’s lacing tapes, Aerco continues to support the aerospace industry’s demand for reliable and compliant cable management solutions.
Following a comprehensive R&D
programme, these have demonstrated robust mechanical performance, whilst delivering up to a 90% reduction in
raw material CO2 emissions compared to prime-grade counterparts. Andrew Fletcher, head of Plastics & Rubber (Commercial & Technical) at TR, commented: “We’ve achieved outstanding results with our sustainable nylon products, not only matching performance requirements but also offering a credible path to Net Zero. This initiative sits at the heart of our strategy to support our customers with engineering-led, environmentally responsible solutions.” The recycled nylon parts are now undergoing final assessments for
commercial launch.
By bringing the additional manufacturing in house, Verotec is now
able to continue production in house, giving renewed confidence that the many Vero Electronics/Verotec designs will continue to be available for the foreseeable future. Verotec’s commercial director, Tim Armstrong, commented: “When the opportunity came up to complete our manufacturing capability and extend our customer base in Germany, it fitted very well with our corporate ethos of providing high quality systems, both standard and modified, to our customer base. We shipped some 25 tonnes of plant, specialised production machinery and stock from Bremen, and production is now fully up and running at our two manufacturing facilities near Southampton.”
