s demand for sophisticated flow measurement technology grows, manufacturers face an evolving challenge: increasing production capability without compromising the precision, quality and performance that underpin reliable measurement. For Titan Enterprises, the solution is to combine modern manufacturing and design technologies with something that cannot easily be automated – the knowledge, judgement and hands-on skills of an experienced engineering workforce. Combining engineering experience with digital design

Titan’s R&D process relies heavily on computer-aided design (CAD), 3D printing, electronics design software and programming. These technologies allow components and technologies to be developed, tested and modified with greater precision before physical manufacture. However, digital tools do not replace experience and engineering judgement. Understanding how materials respond to pressure and temperature, how components will manufacture and how minute changes in geometry can influence flow measurement remains dependent on practical engineering experience and extensive testing. Precision manufacturing requires skilled hands

Flowmeters are precision measurement instruments, meaning small variations in dimensions, surface finish, alignment or assembly can dramatically impact performance.

This is particularly important with positive displacement oval gear meters, where gears must rotate freely and consistently within a precision- machined measuring chamber. Titan’s technicians can work to tolerances of around 3 microns on critical components. Similarly, handling and accurately positioning 2mm sapphire end stones and bearings within turbine flowmeters requires considerable care and expertise. During development, performance issues can sometimes be traced to factors such as surface finish or minute material deformation. Resolving these issues requires engineers to investigate, modify, rebuild and retest physical components – demonstrating the continuing value of hands-on manufacturing knowledge.

ERPAC’s IP-rated BW Series watch-style enclosures are now available as three models (BW2, BW4, BW6) in a wide range of sizes and colours.

These stylish, comfortable enclosures are ideal for fitness/GPS tracking, healthcare and security.

All three models offer IP 67 ingress protection in a three-piece design (top, bottom, strap). Assembly with four screws is quick and simple.

Multiple standard configurations are based on tough polycarbonate tops and bottoms in various heights and colours.

Three plan sizes – 44.19 mm x 38.35 mm (BW2) to 51.05 mm x 80.26 mm (BW6) – each have tops in three heights: 6.35 mm, 8.89 mm, 11.43 mm. BW6 also offers a sloped top (20.57 mm). The bottom comes in three depths: 1.78 mm, 4.06 mm, 6.86 mm. The synthetic rubber strap is offered in eight colours: black, blue, gun metal, neon green, neon orange, orange, yellow and white.

KW’s award-winning CONTROL- KNOBS for rotary potentiometers and encoders can now be specified customised and ‘production line ready’. These ergonomic knobs, which won an iF DESIGN AWARD, are ideal for touch/ click functions on menu-driven interfaces. Applications include measurement and control, medical/wellness, laboratory equipment, HVAC, communications, building control systems and Smart Factory technology.

CONTROL-KNOBS can now be specified custom machined and printed with legends, logos and graphics. OKW can also supply the knobs with laser marking – perfect for consecutive numbering or machine-readable QR codes, bar codes and DataMatrix codes. Other customisation services include installation/assembly of accessories. These ergonomic collet knobs combine a robust polycarbonate inner body with a soft- touch TPE outer shell for anti-slip operation. Functional grooves on the edge ensure a good grip.

CONTROL-KNOBS can be specified (as standard) with or without a pointer line on the side for fine scaling. Optional LED illumination and a translucent optic ring enable operation in low light conditions and further enhance the aesthetics. Energy-saving (5 V) SMD RGB LEDs allow individual illumination and colours.

The knobs are available in two diameters, ø36 mm and ø46 mm – both for 6 mm, 1/4” (6.35 mm) boreholes – and in two standard colours: nero and volcano. Top covers and bases (accessories) can also be specified in these colours. Accessories also include round nuts and a spanner.

The minimum component specification for one CONTROL-KNOB without illumination is a knob and cover; a base can be added if required. A base and illumination kit (accessory) are essential for the LED backlit version. On request, OKW can supply the knobs with accessories pre-assembled.
