Hydrogen
Hydrogen is set to be an application for the future for Coriolis flowmeters. As countries around the world look for alternative methods of meeting their energy demands, for the use of hydrogen is set to grow, and at a significant rate. According to Grand View Research, the global hydrogen generation market size was valued at USD 120.77 billion in 2020 and is expected to expand at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 5.7 per cent from 2021 to 2028. An exponential increase in the demand for clean and green fuel due to rising pollution levels, coupled with growing government regulations to control and curb the sulphur content in fuels, is expected to drive this growth. Part of the switch to cleaner energy will see the natural gas networks in the UK and Europe switch from methane to hydrogen, and Coriolis flowmeters are well placed to support the switch. Coriolis flowmeters have a major advantage over other technologies as they can measure gases as accurately as they do liquids, with an exceptional turndown ratio.
