nergy and utility operators in the Humber and wider north-east of England region now have greater access to a range of specialist flow measurement expertise and services following further collaboration between two leading companies within their own fields. Kelton, a leader in flow measurement, is expanding its presence in the UK by collaborating with sister company and established engineering and design consultancy, OSL Consulting Engineers (OSL) to deliver critical flow measurement support services for the region’s burgeoning hub of new energy, including industrial hydrogen production, storage, and distribution, and Carbon Capture projects. Already known to each other as part of Nexos Group, the provider of consulting, engineering and integrated delivery services, the two firms will now be co-located at OSL’s existing offices in Hull, with members of Kelton’s staff now situated on-site. From these facilities, Kelton will demonstrate its long-term commitment to the region and ongoing decarbonisation activity. Understanding that hydrogen systems present unique measurement challenges, including low density and high diffusivity, Kelton consultants will work with clients to design, audit, and optimise accurate and traceable metering systems that meet the industry’s fast-evolving regulatory landscape. Kelton’s hydrogen metering support is suitable for a variety of applications and requirements, including those blending into gas networks and those scaling up established infrastructure – as is common within the Humber region. Already active in the region, Kelton will strengthen its 35-year history of supporting diverse

energy and utility applications and operations. Stuart Christie, chief operating officer at Kelton, comments: “We’ve long had an interest in the Humber region, as we know there is a need for the specialist services and support we can provide. By collaborating with our sister company OSL and engaging with regional membership organisations, we are taking a critical step to announce ourselves in the region and create new opportunities that will benefit one of the UK’s most exciting industrial hubs. “Hydrogen storage and transportation and Carbon Capture Storage and Utilisation require a robust way of thinking. To fulfil the potential of these industries, proven expertise and collaboration are necessary – and that is what Kelton provides. We’ve got over three and a half decades of proof behind us, serving a range of energy applications, including established relationships with power stations and gas networks in the region. There are very few companies that have the track record we do, so we are fully invested in utilising that to make hydrogen and Carbon Capture production,

storage, and distribution within Humber and the surrounding region as simplified as possible.” Dan McAteer, CEO of Nexos Group, adds: “Kelton’s move into Hull is an important step for Nexos Group and a strong example of how our group companies are working together to deliver greater value for clients. By bringing Kelton and OSL together in the Humber, we are strengthening our collective capability in a region that is playing a vital role in the UK’s energy transition and wider industrial future. “As Nexos Group continues to grow its presence and expertise across the UK, this investment reflects our commitment to supporting the energy, infrastructure and power sectors with the specialist skills they need, where they need them most. We see the Humber as a strategically important location, and this collaboration positions us strongly to support the opportunities emerging there now and in the years ahead.”
